I have some large rock... what's the best way to shape it for a rock cage retaining wall so it fits without unsightly protusions? New to stone masonry.

score with angle grinder and chisel? there is probs detail description about marble cutting. romans would break bedrock stone by setting large fires and quench it with water, i assume like katan quenching you can use mud to direct heat.

there is that giant native American head being cut, i think they use rope style saws with beads has a separate tensioning system similar to a car fan belt

you go along the line you want it to break with a chisel and then it's supposed to break off cleanly but it never worked for me

Rotary hammer and feather wedges.
Star drill if you don't want to fork out the money for a rotary hammer if you can find anywhere that sells them these days.
