I bought this cheap recording module for greeting cards/toys.Is it possible to upload mp3s directly to it with a USB C? I plugged it into my desktop but nothing happened. (Idk shit about electronics)

google the part numbers of each of those ICs to find out what they do. if one is an EPROM of some kind, chances are you can desolder it and reflash it with WAV or PCM data. see if you can find a developers sheet for it with info.

check the power, does it work? try turning off, plugging it in, then turning it on

You can plug it into usb and see what device identifier comes up in lsusb or browse through devices in windows or the caliper icon in osx in utils

More info: connecting the module causes this red light to blink for a few seconds. Then it stays on. Anyone know what that means? Might be that the port is solely to charge the battery and not to upload mp3s like I thought.

The light is green when it's in recording mode (activated by holding down the REC button) but turns red as soon as I plug it in.
