>>2922865 (OP)Jizz on its face until it suffocates. It can't go anywhere.
>>2922950should have pissed on the rat and recorded it. oh well its in the trash now.
>>2922896>realize you could've just used the bucket as the trapYou get to make animals suffer but they die fast and trap doesn't become useless after one kill.
glue traps are crazy inhumane. if you genuinely need to kill a rat instead of live trapping it just use a regular snaptrap and make it quick
>>2922865 (OP)>dont want to get rid of the rat yetThe fuck do you mean you don't want to get rid of it yet?
Also why is this in diy?
>>2925461well only if you let it starve there. If you just club it as soon a you hear is squeaking it's not really inhumane

I have a shit load of experience with this.
Others place them, I hate it and have little control over it, but ultimately they cannot be allowed to infest the buildings.
Initially, I picked the mice out extremely carefully with tools and cleaned them up and freed them. I probably did 30 this way.
Then I gave up. I would take for example the handle of a metal butter knife and quickly press it down on the neck. I dont know how they experience it but I had to do something.
Now I quickly move to them as they scream when I enter the room. I bring a paper towel and something like a coke bottle or glass jug and I tell the mouse I know little mouse Im sorry you got stuck and you wont be able to live anymore, I place the towel over it and bop once lightly where the head is. Towel is double wrapped so I dont see the blood and the force used neither leaves them alive nor disrespects them by obliterating their heads. Take the wrapped trap and either put it in a bag outside or somewhere high up outside and collect it a couple weeks later. I have killes probably over 500.
Please do not ever place traps and not check them. The mice die horrifically, granted much is self inflicted. They chew their own faces off, any limbs the mouth can reach, struggle so much that their eyes bug out and get this nasty thick ring of puffy puss. I hate that things work like this in the world.
Im the only person here who cares about them, so I am the one who ends up killing every one by hand. Its brilliant.
>>2926041Mice are long nosed rodents. And like other long nosed rodents, they deserve what they get.
>>2923894bucket traps penalize first the greedy than the empathetic.
rats are human analogs in testing because they are good analogs for humans.
>>2926041Ok, dale gribble
Or should i say Rusty Shackleford
>>2922865 (OP)just fold in in half and throw it in the trash outside
>>2926041I just use a wrench to bash their neck, usually no blood
>>2922865 (OP)Electrical rat traps
Put the ground and neutral wire on a metal plate with like holes in it, leave the hot wire hanging and covered in peanut butter so they can get blasted
>>2926480A guy in my area set his house on fire. The guy reasoned it would be a good idea to get back at the martens or raccoons by covering his entire attic floor in chicken wire, distribute standoffs, add another layer off chicken wire and hook the whole thing up. Wooden roof truss ofc.
>>2926041>>2926470A few years ago I had to kill a mouse that my cat had left half paralyzed, the thing was crawling in circles.
Had the totally great idea of killing it quickly by dropping a large rock on its head, but my aim was off so instead it basically exploded blood all over my shoes and the bottom of my pants.
Last time I had to put one down it got caught in a snap trap and couldn't get out. I had the genius idea of shooting him with 15 GA finish nails. Those shits are inaccurate AF. I will not do that again. Next time I'm taking my Ka-Bar and slitting its throat or I'm striking it with a long handled garden tool like a hoe or a shovel.
Haven’t they evolved to stay away from humans yet? Seems ridiculous.
Also, it’s easier to get rid of food sources and wet garbage that attract them than to trap them.
As a bonus, you won’t be living in abject filth either.. so there’s that.
