does anyone know how to get this oven bake clay softer/easier to use. water doesnt work because once it goes in the oven it creates cracks

I had a similar problem with Super Sculpey that had dried out. There's loads of YouTube videos from nerdy w*men on how to revive it. I diced mine into tiny cubes, put it in a zip lock with baby oil and left it for a bit. Then I just had to work it in. Some of the videos they used a pasta roller to quickly process it, it'd definitely be quicker if you've got one.

We store sculpey in the fridge until it needs to be used and then heat it au bain marie to 35C to make it soft. Works every time

Go take a ceramics class from your local hippie. All clay acts like that, you have a process problem. submerge your dry ass clay in water for a week to fix the moisture problem. if you have to grind it into powder to get it to soften up, bust out the power tools. knead the air bubbles out. make your bong or whatever 10-15% oversize. put it in a trash bag, tie it off, then poke a few small holes so it dries out slowly, over at least a few days. then bake it in the oven.
