Burned the kitchen table and I want to fix it as soon as possible. I have a vast set of tools in the garage.

that's a laminate countertop, not a "kitchen table", and there's nothing you can do to fix this seamlessly. It's formica melamine over particle board or MDF.

well there are a bunch of things you can do but they are likely outside of your skillset and you'll make it worse if you attempt it. You could route out a square or circle and find matching formica melamine piece and place over it, etc.

this anon is lying. grab a box cutter, and very carefully cut through the top lamenent layer around the burn mark. A dremel tool would work better, if you have one. Once you've cut all the way through the top layer, it should peel off easily. if it doesnt, you may want to use a scraper. Once that's off, take 2 standard gallon size zip lock bags, lay them over the exposed section of table, and use a regular clothes iron to remelt the surface together into one single piece. Then just sand and stain it to match the rest of the table

alternatively, you could cut that out, fill it with resin filler/bondo/woodepoxy, sand flat, of course protecting the rest of the area with plastic and tape, and once it's completely flat, then just use stain/paint/dye and seal it. It's a lot of work, you'll know it's there, it's never gonna match the formica, but it'll hide it from your landlord.

Is that a kitchen table or kitchen counter top? If it's a table just glue some wood veneer to the top.

Unless you know a very talented artist who can paint over it to match the woodgrain, your only option is veneer. Those counters don't look like solid wood.

Formica over MDF based on the image from Google. It's a shame in this country most of the repair men are scamers that doesn't give you the price until the job is done.

>Sandpaper
why are idiots so obsessed with abrasives constantly? Just use a scraper first, you'll make good headway and experience minimal tool wear.
It's the equivalent to using a file on steel. The amount of sandpaper id run through if I'd always grab that first. Jeez.
>How to fix
Easiest way:
Remove everything that is obviously burnt. Get the appeopiate wood repair putty,
>picrel
perhaps fine brushes and the appropiate colors. Remodel the surface. Try to imitate the grain. You can plane and block the putty back down. If not happy with the way it came out try again to immitate the grain with the paint and brush. Looks like there was some kind of clear on top. Once it looks nice aee how PU clear looks. Dont worry if its shiny, it will dull down, you can also always just dull it using steel wool.
If all else fails:
Buy das Wood! Holesaw. Put das wood in. Et voila.

Besides that HDF, MDF, OSB... are wood. But regardless, I didn't make any such claim regardless of the definition of wood.

Fill it it something, superglue and sawdust, wood filler whatever. get really good at painting and finish with clear coat. It's way easier to paint it to match and try to sand it out.

You could try to mix fine saw dust with wood glue and fill the hole. You will have to repaint the table though.
