My first real drone (not finished) diy 7 inch
Can’t fly it yet because the controller I bought is incompatible with my flight controller. Rookie mistakes i guess

The price ballooned fast as there were costs i didn’t expect, for one the controllers are actually way more expensive than i expected and I forgot that I need a charger for the 6s battery, Jesus that’s not cheap either

Went from 120€ for the frame + motors + esc and flight controller
To almost 300 adding the battery, it’s charging station and the elrs controller

Any tips I should know ?

I don’t think an rc boat would help in that regard but thanks for your concern

Why did you leave so much excess motor wire?

i bought a Microzonz mc6c, the reciver uses M-bus connection but my controller (f405) doesn't support it. so i had to send it back and ordered a regular ELRS

I saw a cool helicopter on amazon. (https://www.amazon.com/Helicopter-RTF-Aircraft-Simulation-Brushless/dp/B0DNSMRZ3Y/)
It says it's not a toy, and that it's meant for use by technicians in a field, but it doesn't give much information. What field is it referring to? How is this to be used? Can you make money with this thing?

As someone who knows nothing about this stuff, what is the point of 4 fans/motors? Why not 3 or 2? Does it provide much better balance and quicker turning?

You can speed two in the same direction up while slowing two in the other direction down and yaw. The rest is just common sense, more thrust on the right will make it roll left, more in the rear front and it pitches forward, etc. Old tricopters pivoted one of the motors to control yaw but otherwise worked the same. A bicopter is a helicopter, it needs cyclic pitch control.

If they do the same thing then wouldn't less motors be better? Cheaper and more lightweight

The added complexity of cyclic variable pitch is prohibitive. It is much easier and less complex to add another fixed pitch motor at the end of a moment arm.
