My fascia had rotted around the gutter drain (probably because of no flashing). The rot had gone back a bit past the sub fascia/bird box or whatever, but hadn't yet affected it.
So I squeezed in PC woody epoxy (I used a plastic bag like a pastry chef), but didn't consider it would stick to the horizontal portion of the drip edge.
Now I'm concerned if I go to do a proper replacement of the fascia wood that it's going to tear up the drip edge.
Or maybe it's not a big deal because there's not a ton of contact it'll kind of just snap off? The roof is only a few years old so I'll be kicking myself if I just fucked myself down the line.

I'm contemplating continuing the repair but using vaseline now to make sure it doesn't stick where it shouldn't
Or just leaving it since I have at least now mitigated damage to the structural roof.

Place a chisel at the joint and smack it with a hammer or your palm. It'll snap loose. It's not bonded to anything but the paint, if that.

Ok that's good. When I do pay a professional to fix my hack job and replace that board I didn't want them to yank that board down and mangle the drip edge. For now I'm not going to mess with it lest I make it worse.

>When I do pay a professional
Anon. You do realize the chances a professional does exactly what you fear most are exceedingly high, right? If you want the job done right, you've gotta do it yourself or you need to hound whoever you pay about it.
