How to I find or make a slave Leia outfit that's made of actual metal and how practical would that be to design and wear
Why hasn't it been done already

Even well made plastic ones still look terrible not to mention the collar and chain isn't doing much restraining if it can easily be broken and taken off by hand

Copper turns your skin green

Women would complain about weight or the metal bring cold

Actually

>women will complain

Is about the reason why women donโ€™t get good shit

The actual costume wasn't made of metal; Wookieepedia describes it as 'sculpted faux metal' (probably carved wood to make bucks, then vacuformed from styrene).

Easiest way would be to make them out of wax and cast them to shape, do a lost-wax melt over the forms and cast them in bronze
The reason its not done is that it's fucking expensive and takes a fair bit of skill to do properly putting it out of range of the average punter for this kind of stuff. Plus if you've ever had the unfortunate fate of making things for women, they're all curved and round, then finding out that they're all different curves and round bits so it'd be a real one-size fits one. Modern manufacturing just needs to slop out as much stuff as it can for as many people can buy it.

You could also theoretically make it out of a low-temp extrusion from 3D printing and 'maybe' get that to burn out in the lost process but it'd be something to experiment with on someone else's money

You could hammer and saw the base cups out of sheets of high copper metal with a patina, sanding down the edges and add padding under it for comfort, then make the raised parts out of 3D printed plastic, then make a negative mold out of that, cast it in bronze, add it to the brassiere... so on and so forth. It's a lot of work, more than it's worth for cosplay or sex. I mean, unless you're a real mafia slug from space, is it worth the effort?

The original was based on sketches by costume designer Nilo Rodis-Jamero, the outfit was created by jeweler and sculptor Richard Miller using resin and urethane.

Maybe some kind of foam rubber, they use that a lot in the industry because it's flexible and won't hurt you if you fall or whatever and techniques for making it look convincingly metallic onscreen are well established.

Are the cups even supposed to be metal? I always thought they were velvet or felt or something like that.

Depends if you want it to look like metal or if you want it to be made out of metal

Look:3D print then copperplate. Very easy. Can be done with several metals.

Be: cast? Mill? Wack it with a hamer untill okay? Metal print? Forge?
Idk would not recomend

Plating is pretty sick tho loads of tutorials on yt

Get a hammer and some copper sheets and start hammering, might need something to cut the copper with as well.

We could hire a mandalorian to construct the collar and chain out of beskar steel. That way no jedis can slice it away with a light saber.
