Can someone explain to me the difference between these 2 examples? i have a problem with my boxing bag being too tall and ill need to hook it like the one on the right for it to be in the air.
If the quick links are to prevent it from falling can i attach them but just as a precaution while keeping the stripes connected directly to the hook?
Is there any problem if I do that?

An open hook seems like a dumb idea, but either way is fine. You don't need the chains.

direction of force by a few degrees can pull the stiches out, i ripped a one ton bag trying to roll it.
The chain keeps the force inline and ensures a more equal distribution of weight, despite disturbance. doing it the way on the right should be fine increase wear but it is not a mission critical thing so who cares.
