they sell this without the wall bracket, and i can't buy it standalone (where i am), what's diy's alternative?
the ones available wall mounts use a single female hole in the middle, but the hikvision bracket uses a round cup that goes around the body of the camera, and is held in position by 3 screws.

No... no you are not. you are trying to get other people to solve it for you. you have all the information you need to make your own mount.

the camera, and a picture of the OEM mount.

half the board is filled with people brainstorming around a problem, it's not like you're gonna hold my hands while i drill!
i'm not working from an endless budget here where i can mix and match solutions for keks all day. and i already splurged $300 on that fucking thing and a poe setup, yeah i could spend $100 more importing the fucking thing, or i could get help from /diy/ on a clear cut diy project.

so far i'm thinking:
> drilling into a 5cm pvc elbow and hooking it to a straight pipe.
> hose clamps (one around the camera body, two holding that one, and a fourth connecting them to wall bracket).
> suspension using steel wire and L brackets;
> suspension using steel wire and U clamps originally made for glass shelves.

if you're gonna call me an idiot, at least point me in the right direction, otherwise you don't know any better. don't just smack me and keep going.

>drilling into a 5cm pvc elbow and hooking it to a straight pipe.
This is what I was going to suggest but it depends on the od of the camera and the id of the elbow. I don't know commie units and have no point of reference for size but it looks like it might be a 1 1/2" or 2" in freedom units. If the fit is tight enough that would probably work. I'd probably drill 3 holes through the elbow and epoxy some nuts to the outside. Then you could use the same socket cap screws. If you're worried about damaging the camera you might be able to use nylon bolts but of those strip or wont get tight enough use metal bolts and put a piece of rubber on the end of them. Maybe a little piece of heat shrink tube. You can get a pvc wall flange to attach to the other side of the pipe so you can actually mount it to a wall. Depends on fit, if it's too loose you'll probably have a bad time with it. You probably won't have an easy time lining it up right to begin with but if thay's so you could probably put some molding putty in the pipe to help cradle it while you tighten the bolts.

Go fuck yourself, he already had the idea I was going to suggest before I gave my thoughts on it. This is something weird to build with off the shelf parts from home depot so and I enjoy problem solving like that.

>>2924787
I had a few more thoughts. 1, there is an indention on the camera that's so it can key into the holder, you can try utilizing this. Maybe epoxy another pice of plastic in there and hand filing it down til it fits perfect. Would be tedious but might yield better results. 2, you can heat pvc and manipulate the shape. If the size isn't good you could maybe figure something out with a shop vac extension, those are tapered so you can cut them wherever to get a tight fight. Downsides are softer plastic and a thinner wall. And finally to fill the gap a little of it's too big you can try wrapping it in a piece of rubber or leather before putting it in the elbow. Old glove(work or cleaning), belt, tire innertube, etc.

again, thank you for your help. it's greatly appreciated (even better than chatgpt's idea of problem solving in pic rel). I ended up locating the proper bracket from a local shop, and brought it with me today.

actually i had the measurements ready in 3d before receiving the bracket, and it checked out perfectly.

thank you /diy/
