They are red ryobi with nicer battery form factor. They will work for general diy purposes just fine. I particularly like the 12v platform. The batteries have a USB-C port that can input and output so each battery is also a powerbank. And they make the tool + battery combos cheaper because instead of a dock charger, they just include a usb-c cable. The 12v tools themselves are mediocre, there is still nothing close to the milwaukee m12 line. But again, for general diy, they are cheap and effective. I have the 12v drill and impact driver in my general handyman kit, they have been satisfactory

This pretty much.

Ryobi is to Milwaukee (TTI)
Craftsman is to DeWalt (SB&D)
Skil is to Flex (Chervon)

It’s the weekender brand of the company that makes Flex. You get a lot for the money. I would take Skil over Craftsman. Can’t beat Ryobi’s lineup tho.

Bought a few for -50% off for like 50$ ea for single job use. They refused to die so I'm stuck with them now:
XP Multitool
1-hand BL sawzall
LED light fixtures 2x
BL Orbital sander
BL Finishing sander

Skil batteries are weaker than competition. Max 5,0Ah and costs more than Ryobi etc. batteries. Personally just using 4x free 2Ah which I got with the tools.

Don't see any reason buying them for sticker price but if they're cheaper than ryobi or other brands they're decent option.

They make a good worm-gear saw.

Other than that. Meh.

skillsaw is a separate brand from skil now under chervon.

it's a good brand as far as trying new things at a very budget price goes, availability is kind of iffy depending on your location in the world though.

I recently bought a little Skil corded angle grinder on sale for $25. For the money I'm actually impressed, feels way nicer than what you'd get for similar money from Harbor Freight or whatever. It also has storage for the wheel spanner built into the side handle, which is a pretty cool idea and not something I've seen before.

You should look at specs and not the brand, retard.

You could say it's a Skil issue

Love their table saw and chop saw, im neutral on the hand-sized stuff. The drill is good but feels like the battery runs out quickly
