I want to buy/install an AC but on the manual it says to drill into the wall to install supports. Would a 4V electric be enough to drill through wood?

Yes, but you might want to let someone else do the AC install if you can't tell the difference between a drill and a screwdriver.

> buy an identically functioning machine because the marketing people told you this spinning thing is for this. And this spinning thing is for that, and we have this vibrating spinning thing for other shit we call an “impact driver” but it’s 99% the same thing.
> the latest spinning things are 10 times more powerful than they were ten years ago, but we still haven’t miniaturized them because yanks like big empty pieces of plastic that look like guns that megatron uses

Yup, you got it man, Everything that spins electrically is a drill. Why don't you just use the desk fan already at your disposal to drill for the installation of your AC. Yank the blower fan motor out of the AC itself and use that if you don't have another fan/drill at hand.

I found a video by a nice indian or pakistani gent that attached a fan motor to a drill bit.

The carbide tip, SDS ones are a good alternative too, they'll drill through concrete I can only imagine what they'd do to wood.

I'm sure this is a troll post, but if it's a window AC unit you don't need to drill anything. Just get a drill-less bracket and ignore what the AC manual says about drilling and screwing in the accordion things on the side. Those should stay in on their own but you can tape them if they don't

> drill-less solution
At some point, your hot-melt-glue costs will exceed the cost of the drill.

No matter what, every person should own a drill. You WILL need one at more than one point in your life. Get a decent one(even ryobi) and you'll be set for life.

I told my sister to get a black & decker 20V. Even chicks in apartments need to hang potted plants on their balcony from time to time. That battery will last a good 10 years as long as they charge it once every 30 months.

Use your hand, mate. You can punch a screw into wood without anything but a screwdriver in your hand.

biggest problem with your plan is that while that chuck holds standard screw bits, it won't hold a drill bit for drilling pilot holes. you can usually get away without pilot holes, but they are a best practice, especially for hard woods

sure, but by the time you spend 20 on that and 10 on that adapter, you can just get a basic drill for 40, and have way more capability. doesn't make sense. this guy seems to be trying to buy a tool for a single job. short sighted. he'll spend 30 now then 40-50 later for an actual drill.

when you're young, projects are expensive. as you get older, your tools are already there and stuff gets cheaper. it's an investment in the future.
