Can someone ID this hydraulic part?
I went to 4 different hydraulic parts stores and no one knows exactly what it is.
The last place told me it's a pressure regulator that's $70 but that's not it

It's from a hydraulic log splitter .
It's leaking

Inline pressure/flow reducing valve? If the small part is somehow spring loaded, then it's some kind of pressure adjustment or limiter thing. At worst, it could be a very retarded looking check valve. Also maybe look inside the hole on the big one.

youve made this post like 4 times in 2 years with no progress. you need to accept you have an antique piece of orphaned shit thats unlikely to have available parts. it happens. but theres good news. a new valve isnt that expensive and will have better functionality (rapid extend) so you can spend more time splitting wood instead of wasting internet bandwidth on an eastern kazak reed intertwining imageboard

if you lived near 123w45n id even invite you to bring it to my shop and id install it fot you just so id never have to see this retarded thread again

You aren't going to like this, but figure out how a "real" log splitter works, then cross off all the parts on your abomination you can identify, and whats leftover is your leaky part.
I've seen janky stuff over the years like people saying "Aww shit I am not making a new hose thats just 1 inch longer just attach this POS to the end that does nothing other than provide more points to leak in the future but it's an inch long so I don't have to make a new hose". Making hyd hoses is an expensive pain in the ass and buying them is even more expensive (assuming you already own a press and dies) so its possible your part quite literally does nothing.

yes I did, I also went to 6 local hydraulic places since, and no one knew what the part was.
what you are linking the entire control valve. that wont solve my issue.

today I went to a farm equipment repair shop with the part in hand, and got it fixed. there was a missing o-ring inside it.

yes it will. you take the old valve off and throw it in the scrap bin
plumb the pressure side of the pump to the valve inlet. connect the cylinder lines to the 2 outputs. the valve return port connects to the reservoir tank
surpluscenter.com sells generic hydraulic hoses and adapter fittings cheap as fuck and theyre on ebay for convenience
this is hydraulics 101

It works now, runs great, no leaks

It's a spring loaded puke valve.
Something like picrel.
I would've just installed the hose directly.

Maybe try asking around in an espresso machine forum or discord. Espresso machines seem to use similar looking parts, and a lot of them are ancient Italian machines with copper parts that enthusiasts know a lot about.

Kind of a shot in the dark but since this guy mentioned you were looking for 2 years maybe worth a shot.

Does the valve handle bump up against that when locked in the retract position and when the cylinder bottoms out and the pressure spikes it pushes that pin out to kick the handle out of the detent spot?

If so that's kinda ingenious, but I've never seen one quite like that before.

How about the next time you need to fix something you completely disassemble it and try to figure it out like a big boy before making a gay thread about it. This entire disaster of a thread could have been avoided by the tiniest bit of teardown and observation.

i did, and i took this part to 5 different hydraulic shops, and only the 6th one figured out what it was.
I posted here between visits hoping someone else might know the part name.
according to the guy who fixed it, its called a detent valve, and on this unit its a separate part thats not built into the control valve itself.
>>2926804
yeah so thats what it is.
puke valve, relief valve, idk. the guy called it a detent valve.
ive been googling all the above and i cannot find a similar product, everything else has valves and springs in it.

this log splitter is from the 70's and is cobbled together with a bunch of parts. it works great now that I fixed all the leaks on it.

>>2926756
her is the vid of it working. if its not displaying, download it.
