I need a flat bed on the back of a truck to be able to extend outward towards the back and lay flat on the ground while carrying 2500 pounds. The bed is only about 7 or 8 feet long.

I am not a fabricator and have no idea how to do this or the hydraulics involved. What is the profession I should be inquiring with to get a project like this completed? I've been googling fabricators in my local area with no luck.

The truck has to be able to take 2500 lbs from the bed, and then put it on the ground. I don't know who mentioned tow, but I'm not looking at towing.

I think that is possible, however, anything on the bed that is being hauled will slide off with that set up. If the flatbed could remain flat while being lowered to the ground, that is fine.

I imagine the truck would need some kind of stand to keep the front end from raising as the bed is lowering, but I know a simple solution to this already.

I've looked into them, but waiting for a call back.

It is possible, but for what my plans are, it would be best to remain flat while lowering, like a liftgate on the back of a box truck.
