I think this is a psyop by the elites to make furniture take even less materials and be even cheaper.

I'd be concerned about stability, because if someone jumps on one side, it's going to launch people off the other side. It wont have any stability. It needs sectional inflation bladders, and a dense foam support structure at a minimum.

Plus side is it's safer for kids.

Modern furniture is a huge scam. Go solid steel, build your own, or amish.

Is it just a giant chunk of foam or an air couch? I need to get some new couches someday but would like to get some heavy duty leather ones with recliners on each end. No fucking cup holders or any other bullshit in the middle section.

Anyone have any good recommendations on a good built to last brand?

>plastic is bad for the planet we should reduce our usage
>petrochemicals (plastics) leak poisons into your vial lungs and skin and are generally awful for you
>foam (plastic) is an insulator and absorbs heat making it uncomfortable to sit or lie on for long periods
meanwhile
>all mattresses are now foam topped
>most mattresses are replacing springs with foam
>all chairs have foam cushions
>chairs now moving to replace springs and wood (both very easily recyclable and zero health issues) with foam.

why?
well money. foam mattress and chair carcass is made in minutes compared to traditional hours or days. shipping costs are greatly reduced. also foam crumbles to powder with use (look up purple pillow in the news) and needs replaced more often.
nobody cares about what the materials will do to you
nobody cares about what the materials will do to the environment

so back to the question: are they comfy.
do you think they do this for your comfort? or because it makes them a lot of money?

Iโ€™ve got at 40yo Ligne Rosett sofa which is still going strong. Granted, I had it reskinned (which probably cost more than 40 years worth of sofas from Ikea) but I absolutely love that thing.
Plus, I really like ligne rosetts designs.
So if you can afford it, go for it!
But cheap stuff? Probably nope. >>2929174 is a bit too shizo, but heโ€™s got a point: cheap foam will turn into dust, sooner, rather than later.

If you live in a big population area, look up on Offerup. People are building solid furniture in their little warehouses reminiscent of the old days. I bought a leather sectional for $800 that is the best fucking couch I ever bought. Very solid and sturdy. Still looks brand new 3 years later
