The door lock of my house can't be closed normally; either you slam it loudly or by making pressure on the stile, which also create a sound that wakes ups everyone in here.

Does it need WD40? Should I tinker a little on the thing?

Door thread also!

Sounds like it may be misaligned. Try lifting the door, or pressing it down. If either helps, adjust the hinges accordingly.

that's a last resort for when things are stuck. Since you can still move the parts, better disassemble, clean, and apply a proper lubricant.

i'm glad you pointed that out, because it strikes me as the sort of keychain a homosexual might use. we don't help homosexuals 'round these parts.

In fact, I was checking and the hinges are completely painted by a work made four years ago.

Who the fuck uses a deadbolt that's keyed on the inside? It's like you want to get trapped in a house fire or something.

If the door latches, but you need to exert excess pressure on it to do it, sounds like the strike/latch plane is out of alignment horizontally. Like it has to compress the weatherstripping too hard for it to get to the latch point. Just move the latch plate out enough for the door to close with a normal amount of force. Not too much though, you want to make sure it still touches the weatherstripping if not very slightly compress it.

The houses in all this projects came with this, it's a questionable choice indeed.
