How to make a dunk tank where the person in the tank can sit on the plank thing but once they fall from the plank or someone hits the target dropping it and they are in the water they are stuck in the water until somebody outside the dunk tank chooses to let them out? Being in the water for a few seconds just doesn’t sound like enough. Preferably the tank should be see through. So maybe like pic related except deeper? Just a dunk tank like the others except the loser is stuck there inside until the winner or somebody on the outside has lets them out.

Inb4 drowning it can include a life preserver or those blow up arm worn floatation things or the water can be not that deep but they still can't get out once dunked until someone outside the tank pushes a release button or something. They should be stuck in the tank until the winner lets them out 3 seconds in the water is nothing.

you could put a plastic ceiling on the water and have it operate as a one way backflow valve, but the arms keeping it from going back can just be turned away so it can be pushed up on demand

Why not just have it like the pic in op where the tank has a cage around it and the only way in or out of the tank is by walking the plank to get to the access slot? When the plank is down it blocks access out. Make it so the person in the tank has to lift the plank up to the horizontal position while the outside person has to position the "trigger" before it can be reset.
