QUACKGRASS IS THE DEVIL'S WEED
This shit is seriously unstoppable. It's crabgrass on steroids, because it's a perennial and it spreads with runners underground. You can't pull it, you can't use preemergent on it, and 2,4-D doesn't kill it.
It's green and it's grass so I might not care, except that it grows like bamboo and is about 15 inches tall before the rest of my lawn needs mowing and binds up my mulcher. It must die.

Has anyone ever tried using its fast growth against it? I'm thinking that if I let it run for 2-3 weeks, it'll be like 2 feet tall and thick as a carpet. Then I can just carpet bomb it with roundup from like waist height and it'll soak the quackgrass but not be able to penetrate through to the actual grass underneath. Can't fail, right?
Worst case at least my lawn is dead and I can just set it on fire and start over...

plants go hard

i cleared about half an acre of woods for a solar array three years ago, Im blown away by the stumps that laid dormant two years looking dead that are now sending up shooters at the base.

killing plants is like.... not how they work. especially if you only go at em above ground.

our brains may be in our heads, but theirs are in their roots

with that said, Id grab a pickaxe and a shovel, dig it up like a foot into the good grass throw it in a wheelbarrow bring it somewhere else fill in the hole with topsoil and spread new grass seed and straw on it if you were someone I was working for. In a month it will be beautiful this way
anything else will take way longer. sweat, not round up

No shit... it's a grass. 2,4-D doesn't touch any grasses.

My grass was literally designed in a lab by egghead scientists to thrive in my environment. My grass is an abomination, an unholy creation of demonic sciences by the white man.

I wish I could replace all the grass in my yard with something that doesn't actually grow tall so I never have to mow the lawn, I don't care if it's bright purple, that would be preferable to hearing my cousin yell at me over and over for the state of my grass

It's a grass, of course it doesn't. Try Quinclorac but truth be told you'll probably need glypho or a shovel.
