My hoover stick vacuum suction tube ripped.
I started taking it apart, and it has this molded piece of plastic on it that clips into another part.
I cant find the exact replacement head, but others go for $50-65. I aint paying that.
Is there an inexpensive way to repair this rip?
Maybe I can buy a replacement reinforced hose and epoxy it in place.
I'll check with my local pool supplier if I can get a 1 foot section.

here is the whole thing pulled out, its glued in on both ends.
I think I can rip it out by the wire and slip in a new one. its only glued in at the very end.
thats if I can find an inexpensive vacuum hose.
alternatively i can try wrapping it with something
Is that coil made of electrical wire or is it just reinforcement? The pool supply hose option might work (or even check CL/marketplace to see if someone is trashing some) but if that's wiring you'll have to reroute it like you said. Is that piece subjected to actual tension or just flexing? I'd try wrapping the hell out of it in duct or electrical tape first if it's not pulled too hard.
Measure the cross section and slip an appropriately sized bike inner tube or piece of silicone intake tubing over the ripped part?

Hose Clamps on the inner tube to keep the Vacuum within the tube.
>>2933328>Hose Clamps on the inner tube to keep the Vacuum within the tube.Even some good electrical tape, gorilla tape, or self fusing silicone tape would be more than enough. I'm betting space is tight in that area of the vacuum, so might not be room for a hose clamp.
I'd just use a bunch of duct tape.
I stopped by a hardware store and they have me some leftover vacuum hose for free, it looks to be a bit larger, I'll see if it fits.
I think like a 1.5" shrink tube may work too. No one has that size locally.
I got the new hose in there. It's ever so slightly larger in diameter so I had some kinking issues.
Works great otherwise. A bit stiff but whatever
>>2933574Good job OP, you got er done.
>>2933616Thanks. It's very stiff and doesn't lean side to side as it used to but oh well
