I don't think there's any argument that the single most versatile pry bar is a Halligan, but what about for a small set?
If you had to throw say 4-6 bars in your truck to handle everything, what would they be?
What I'm accustomed to having with me:
>cat's paw
>6in flat scraper pryer
>15in flat bar
>The classic crowbar
If I had a halligan I'm sure I could make it useful.
IMO it's more important to have a diverse range of sizes; the fine details don't matter too much. Realistically these things are all just levers and wedges.
You never have all of the "right" tools for the job, but your will and your wits make lots of things possible even with suboptimal equipment.
As a farmer I keep a spud bar and a couple alignment bars on my pickups at all times. Not really much use for smaller flat bars and nail pulling bars. So depends completely on your application.
