I discovered the Eiken manga and anime when I was 12, and it ruined me for an entire summer. Kirika killed millions.

Even though I don't like her, I tried to decensor the Kirika CG from Eiken for PC too for the sake of everyone, but it kept looking like shit so I didn't want to waste any more time on it. Matsuyama's anatomy was still fairly terrible back then, so Kirika was too difficult to work with.

Wanted to bring the eiken thread back up a little bit, but only just to pump it up.
Supposedly Seji is gonna bring eiken back using AI, but frankly that dude has been pretty lazy with doing seemingly anything for the past several years (I think he's only done one-off porn for years which makes me think he isn't a full time mangaka) and cannot stop getting banned, so my bet is it'll amount to nothing.

Honestly the man's probably one of the worst that has actually had stuff published. Even serialized published chapters have eyes that aren't level or constantly shifting hand and breast sizes. Frankly Eiken will only "Come back" from someone else who both gives it and it's characters depth but also isn't worried about focusing on breast growth- you just can't have a blank paper stand-in main character anymore and you need a central plot to keep your manga from waffling like Monster Musume is currently.

Some of the AI pics mimicking the anime art style from the last thread were pretty cool, there was a Kirika one at a desk in particular that stood out. That's one of the things I'm most interested in with AI art, especially for older series like this that lack newer stuff to post (granted Kirika became a bit of a meme and got more exposure and a bit of an art boom in recent years)

My favorite comment about Seiji's infamous anatomy comes from Masashi Ishihama, the person in charge of handling the character designs for the OVA. From an art book focused on various projects he worked on, he as politely as possible states, (google translated):

Matsuyama's art is challenging, and I tried my best to keep the design as close to the original work as possible, but I remember struggling to capture the essence of the original, which wasn't easy. I feel like the unique sense brought by the director and the appearance of Hiraku Kaneko made a significant difference.

It's not a hot take at all. Matsuyama's art is inconsistent if he really tries, and ranges from "passable" at best and spirals down all the way down to "dear LORD what is THAT". The manga is given a pass not because it's better than OVA, which as mentioned >>2904484 is carried by the animation it has, but because it offers people more of the characters beyond two episodes... and even then Seiji mucks it up between the warped bodies and character blunders like "The character everyone likes because she's a fiery free-spirit has a secret shy demure personality when she sneezes (this may be her TRUE SELF??)"
