As I have said lots of times, my desktop is old as dirt and can't run any kind of offline generator, so I can only use Civitai's online generator.
Buying a new desktop just to generate images is not, and will never be a valid option for me, but the day I find a way to use Illu and get the kind of color and style I get with Pony you can bet I will change and use it for good.

If you're using Illustrious (Or any variation of SDXL) thats too low. If you're using a 1.5 Model for some reason thats a bit too high. I'd recommend something like 832x1280 as a base resolution for SDXL models. However if you're using a 1.5 based checkpoint I cant help you cause its old. Alos like the other Anon said, if using LoRA's they might be crap.

I don't know how Comfy works but in Forge I would always gen an image, put it through Extra to scale it up 2 or 4 times, then through Img2Img to improve its quality. Even if you don't want to gen an image 4 times the size it's good to do it anyway so the model has more information to work with when genning an image in img2img. At least that's what I've heard online.

Maybe a similar sequence in Comfy.

bit more GPU requirements but would recommend an SDXL model instead of SD1.5
ideally 12+Gb of Vram, but i've used them on as little as 6Gb including img2img at high resolution without actual quality issues (as well as just cpu+ram but it's way too slow)
also forge if you want all the easy mode tools with a standalone installer, comfy is powerful but very bare bones out the box, takes much more trial and error, and the main benefits you get from it compared to forge/reforge are for things other than image generation

are you generating at high resolution or upscaling to high resolution?
you should be careful with 1.5 models at high resolutions, they are expecting to output at ~250k pixel resolutions (and generally square 512x512 for best results) and will always get wacky and act like they're trying to "start over" the visual of a prompt after every 512x512 grid

okay so I went for a higher demand model based on Illustrious, its called iLustMix, the workflow is pretty much the same.

The pictures are 1024x512 upscaled by 2 with the upscaling module called "4x animesharp.pth" literally installed thought the comfyUI manager, then also use a node called Ultimate SD Upscale cause deepseek told me it was one the best.

I think I'll leave 1.5 models behind for now these Illustrious shit looks way fresh and better.

Next thing I'll learn is how to recycle the same characters in different prompts.

New fag from yesterday I decided to start from scratch and look at workflows already done by others in civitai instead of trying to understand what really happens.

So far this takes care of the artifacting,nasty yellow cumstains,melting colours making it look like a feverdream, making great leaps from sd1.5 and a primitive default workflow with illustrious.

So far I got one work but bad news its something called vprediction, it has also a text to image workflow but I'm missing on two dependencies, specifically 2 custom nodes

There is literally no reason at all for someone who is starting complicating his life by using comfy.

If you have any technical issues and can not install forge for some reason, I understand. But if you are using comfy because its the first thing you found just use forge/reforge.

Comfy is a really good tool that allows for things forge can not done. But for starting for general generation you don't need that. You don't need workflows, scheduling and stuff.

My suggestion is use forge if you can install it, and at some point if that's not enough then jump to comfyui

I might be MASSIVELY stupid cause this predictive thing feels like text to image you literally have the same output positive and negative outcomes.

Not at all I got this new budget pc and I went right away with something popular in github called Easy Diffusion but I noticed it was only build to handle sd1.5 based models when I tried anything adobe that it shat itself and even if optimized all options and tweaks it took an eternity to draw the simplest thing.

So I decided to go for comfy cause it looks like you are 100% in control, I'm asking DeepSeek about everything and so far it has been right about everything but in the workflow with text to image I still have 2 nodes missing.
