I've been trying the inpaint nodes in some images to remove clothes and such. It works as intended with the exception that it won't remove shoes or any other type of footwear no matter how I phrased it in the prompt and negative prompt.

lmao, I'm just about a year in. Any advice on mass converting white background gens into transparent .png assets. The background remover workflow i've got on comfy isn't good enough (leaves jaggy, poorly aliased white outlines), manually doing the hundreds of images in photoshop is prohibitively time consuming, and I don't want to upload everything to the higher quality but privacy invasive online background remover tools.

Because the standards people apply to AI generated stuff is nuts. And lot of times is criteria that lot of human created stuff wouldn't able to grasp.

Of course, AI will never able to compete with human artists. But human artists mistakes are forgiven so much easily.

I mean, for example you check an small AI comic that was AI generated and the slightest inconsistence will trigger people. Like "in this image the bangs are longer so it looks like a total different character!" or "in this image her dress has wrist cuffs, then the wrist cuffs dissappear, then they reappear again"!

Then you remember all those visual novels you have seen through the years, you can still find cgesets on sadpanda, with games made by considerabily big companies of the industry, with torsos completely broken, and faces on two different h-scenes so different you can't even tell they are supposed to be the same character.

But with AI, "Oh no, that finger on her right hand bends in a way that is a little too weird!" but if you check a few years old Lilith game you will even find that there are missing breasts, orcs without arms or some other shit

You are making too many images.

Do only a few poses. May be 5 or 6. And cleanup the backgrounds manually. Or use the extractor and fix the mistakes by hand.

Then inpaint those 5 images faces to give them as much facials expressions you want.

Since you have the versions with background removed you only need to remove the rest with photoshop.

You don't need 200 portraits. You can add all the images you want as "cg" as images.
For the actual visual novel part just handpick 5 poses and inpaint as many expressions you need on those

But just to show you an example of what I'm talking about, I re-ran a prompt of mine on an Illustrious checkpoint with a bias for mature ladies, take the result to img2img, run it with another checkpoint using the same prompt, increase denoising strength as needed.

You start with 50 because you wanna change stuff, but not change too much since we wanna save most of the image as possible, most images see positive results between 55-60. And as you can tell I ended up with a few mistakes, but all we have to do now is take it to Impaint and Impaint Sketch to fix them up.

The prompts and the seed

Some prompts will lead you to more melty images depending on the elements you add.

You may get a cute pic, and just changing the name of the character or the background will make the tone completely different because the dataset is different.

And even with the same prompt some seed will give worst results than others.

That's why usually you try to use artist or some lora to stabilize the thing and try to get more or less even results

Using the same seed won't help there. There is always variables, so the best way is try different seeds for each ones and pick the ones you believe are better.

One seed with one prompt can be in style different to same seed with another prompt.

Even the common elements in the prompt are the same.

I mean "asanagi" with prompt "x" and "y" seed can give a color image-
But "asanagi" with prompt "z" and "y" seed can give you a monochrome image.

You need to do "asanagi" with prompt "x" and "z" with different seeds. Of course if you want you can try the same seed in both prompts, but that doesn't guarantees you similar gens in style

I'm trying to generate some stable OC characters with prompts in Illustrious, according to the sticky guides, since its based on SDXL, I took a look at the Lora training section of the first post and I was wondering the following.

So it does state that needs about 50 pictures, but it doesn't mention it as a minimum.so far I have about 8 pictures that look like the same character in different poses.

My greatest difficulty so is for my character to have the same accessories in the same dimensions,shape and color.

so my questions so far are:

When it comes to reproducing the character, even a single picture can be enough. The issue is a Lora will always bias your gens towards the same few styles, poses, compositions, backgrounds, etc that your dataset images have. This is negated by having a large variety of pics, where the only thing in common is the girl. I lowest okay one I baked had 18, imo 50 is definitely overkill on illustrious/noob.

Since she's an AI girl to begin with, what I would try is to train on a very small number, 1-3 where her features are truly consistent. And either bake it with lower steps or use it at low strength, just to give you a weak bias towards getting the right features. Use that to expand your dataset and rebake.

Now, for something functional enough that is not tricky to use I'd say about 20. Even 15.

Use low train batch size (1), and if you use few images 15 or so, keep the steps to 1800ish.
