Cartier rimless if you are a richfag

Aviator if not. Spend around 300 for decent quality, and dont get the darkest lenses because thats creepy. Dont care about head shape and other pesudo science

Not a fan of rimless, especially at Cartier prices. If you get bumped wrong the frames will pop out of the lenses. I also just like the feeling of something more bulky and substantial.

I also really dislike anything where the inner metal frame is visible through acetate.

As a prescription lens guy it is so annoying how all the β€œdesigner” brands will absolutely fleece you. Even the basic lenses will cost at least as much as the frame and good lenses will cost twice as much - if they even have a store in your city or even bother with it.

The issue with this is lens defects. If they're a tiny bit off in terms of purely neutral magnification, they WILL give you headaches if worn for extended periods of time. I used to think this was a non-issue and constantly wore twenty dollar department store sunglasses. This was fine unless I went on a road trip or worked extended hours outdoors. Then splitting headaches it took me over a year to figure out were caused by the shitty glasses.

Get some type of transparent lens aviator.. amber, orange, brown. Make sure the width is commensurate with your face. Don’t get some sort of mirror lens bs that makes you look like a truck driver. You want to look like a gambling addict or this guy.

I'm more about clean design, Bauhaus, form follows function. Without overdoing it and falling into the trope of minimalism, i think sunglasses should look like sunglasses and not distract from your face. I think about what a costume designer would chose for a character that would enhance him without being the main point of attention.
When people close their eyes and you ask them to think about sunglasses, they will think about something like picrel (Luxotica debate asside, it can be other brands or shapes).
Back to the Matsuda, maybe they match your vibe, but i'd see those on some obnoxious arab dealer, on R Kelly, on Salt Bae... They are like wearing a hat with feathers or something.

On that note, 99% of time a character in a movie is wearing weird of interesting sunglasses (not wayfarer or aviator shape), that character is either a douchebag, a loser or the main antagonist. Which is why they make you look like a douchebag IRL.

Main guy but sleazy. People don't react well to this in real life, because IRL Sleazes are not just funny characters, they are crooks, druggies and douchebags. People don't get the irony.
Wearing these sunglasses is like wearing Ed Hardy t-shirts ironically, most people won't get your irony.

Just wear aviators because they always "look cool". Most people know they're "cool" because all the cool guys in movies wear them. If you work out outside and wear sunglasses (why?), wear sports glasses. That's it. Other sunglasses make you look retarded because you're not in a movie and you don't have a "character" (other people just see you as a random passerby, to them, you either look normal in your aviators or like a tryhard retard in your "fashionable" square or round gay glasses)
Sure, if you dress like a freak, you can wear other kinds of sunglasses. But then you already look like an idiot, so it doesn't matter. Don't pay attention to what women do. They can wear whatever they want because they get a pass. They can be "quirky" and "special" because, first, they're naturally retarded, and second, you (and so do other men) want to stick your meat baton into their slimy hole(s), so you quite essentially don't care what kind of sunglasses retarded women wear. But you will be judged for your appearance

Seconding Matsuda.

But before you buy Sunglasses this expensive you should own a proper wardrobe including one good suit, a decent watch. Sunglasses are a premiere accessory, but not the first thing you buy for a bunch of money. Certainly before you get a nice wallet or a second style in your wardrobe, but it's by itself not a stand-out piece worth being more expensive than everything else you own.

Did this with JMM wearing mostly vintage, it looked bad. Apart from the fact that the JMM are way too large.

Would get these when a poor schmuck who bought them tries to sell them on ebay.
For someone less obnoxious about branding I'd just get a fake off of Aliexpress. They're pretty decent and the original doesn't compare in terms of performance.

Would also get designer sunglasses in general off of ebay second hand or from vintage dealers. They rarely have any wear at all, are sold at an apropriate price, and might even be a steal on ebay since very few people buy designer sunglasses (or designer stuff in general) second hand.
