Why does this board and pretty much everyone on social media think Japanese are fashionable? I don't understand this hype at all. They're short, with relatively ugly faces, and follows trends (wide-legged baggy clothes) like any other country.

I don't know how things are in your country, but here in America 90% of the "fashion" you see on the streets is "obese person in jeans and a t-shirt", whereas in Japan the general public actually tries to look good. Most women over there wear cute dresses and actually look presentable (at least they did when I visited a few years ago), as opposed to here where 90% is the aforementioned jeans/t-shirt combo, and the other 10% that are skinny are wearing some athleisure slut wear or the same boring shit as the other 90%, usually paired with the worst hairstyle you've ever seen in your life.

I used to work in a neighborhood with lots of Japanese expats, and I could always spot the women from miles away. They were impeccably dressed: fashionable not too fashionable, modest but feminine, high-quality pieces but very few visible logos. They all looked elegant in a really effortless way.
