I got Mary Kay Quattro. The mid notes are a great grescent before it turns a bit soapy. Good thing that doesn't last because it's a cologne before it settles into the faint woody smell. Nice everyday, clean, splash.

It smells like how much it costs. I also gave my dad an old Polo Blue because that's what he used to wear, I couldn't say what it smells like because all I smell is my dad when I was young. He now hints that his bottle of BdC has run dry so I'll try to find him a vintage one.

>>18459444Blue Jeans was my first fragrance I think when i was a teen, or maybe Armani Eau Pour Homme from my Dad, I can't remember.
Have fond memories of it, and I recently tried it again in the store, it's good, if only a little generic, and I think I'm too old for it now.
No idea what the performance is.
Cheap enough for a blind buy though so why not just grab it?

My birthday order came in:
>Bentley for Men Intense
Pretty fucking amazing. The rum note is subtle. You won't smell like a sailor on shore leave. Woody and rich without being astringent. Gonna be a real treat come fall.
>Bentley for Men Absolute
Kinda disappointed in this one to be honest. It's far more medicinal than I expected. Might still be good on skin though. Not giving up yet.
>Encre Noire Sport
I've got a bottle of a'la Extreme and the OG, and I think this one might be the best. It's certainly the most versatile and work friendly. I don't really get any of the aquatic notes I've heard folks talk about, but it is very fresh l.
>Eau de Rochas Home
This one came as a bit of a surprise. It's very similar to Plat Egoiste, perhaps a bit lighter and greener. Fucking excellent for $35. This will immediately be in the summer office rotation for the near future.
>>18459478depends on the perfume and the prominent note

I consider Guerlain Vetiver to be a tobacco fragrance more than anything else.
They should have called it Guerlain Tobacco.
>>18459513well, that's stupid since it's a vetiver fragrance
>>18459523Oh, Yeah.
not only is the vetiver the foremost note it's also at least twice if not thrice as strong as the tobacco

Anyone know about creed atomizers? I decided kind of on a whim to get some of these probably-vastly-overpriced ($95) 5mL creed atomizers cuz I’m gonna be traveling a bit this summer. And damn they are actually really nice. Nicer than I was expecting. I mean they should be for that price but I was expecting to just get fleeced on brand name but at least still get something decent. The spray is way nicer than on their actual fragrance bottles. It’s like sauvage’s sprayer. Magnetic cap and the glass insert (I guess most of those travel atomizers with the spray-in bottoms are actually plastic?) is magnetic. Overall construction feels pretty nice.
Anyway, mini-review aside I was wondering if anyone knows if the 10mL and 50mL ones they sell are similar. Magnetic stuff and the most quality. It looks like the 5mL ones are new. Can’t find any info about them online
>>18459565> the most qualityThe mist quality*
It’s a really fine spray (again, like sauvage)
>>18459288 (OP)What is the best version of Dior Sauvage? the EDT, EDP, or Parfum? (elixir excluded).
>>18459568I own EDT and Elixir. The rest of them I’ve smelled at stores. imo the two I have are the only ones worth owning. And EDT is overall still the best, because if you’re gonna get a small bottle of some strong winter frag you might as well get absolu aventus or just something else. I know you said no elixir anyway but thought that context might be useful
EDT is really good imo as a versatile freshie and imo EDP and Parfum are just riding the coattails and aren’t as good. The downside of course is that it’s not exactly a unique smell
>>18459156>Cool water has more calone than bvlgari aqvaWrong.
>I grew up in the 90s so I know caloneSo did i, you are still wrong.
>>18459371>Cool Water isn't an aquaticCorrect
>Boucheron Pour Homme isn't a fougereNot anymore due to lack of oakmoss but it was and a good one, to be fair almost nothing is a fougere nowadays, genres were effectively killed by IFRA.
>>18459436>It was just too cheap smelling for me.>BdC vintageShit taste and retarded take, stop posting
>>18459478Das rite, otherwise all water lilly perfumes would be aquatic, all perfumes with any amount of calone in the top notes would be aquatic too.

>>18459591>Meanwhile i decided kind of on a whim to get some of these probably-vastly-overpriced 5mL creed atomizersIs that supposed to be hypocritical or something? I make decent money. I’ll get use out of them. I could have returned them if they ended up being really jank, and it turns out they’re quite nice. I’d prefer to use a flacon and these to the spray bottles anyway. An unexpected happy ending
>>18459416Toy Boy is gay, anon.
>>18459593>Is that supposed to be hypocritical or something?Actually yes, absurdly so, lurk more
>>18459584>He doesn’t like the smell of whale vomit or hayrides>>18459565Unlike most people in these threads I love a good travel spray and have one for each of my fragrances, but 95$ for a travel spray is beyond asinine, regardless of the quality.
>>18459598Ok you just don’t know what any of those words mean then
>>18459600> but 95$ for a travel spray is beyond asinine, regardless of the quality. That’s fair. I’d have thought the same thing a couple of years ago (made a lot less money) and if I didn’t have them in-hand to feel the difference. I also don’t have a ton of different frags in rotation anymore, either. So not like I’m gonna buy a ton more of them. Hopefully they’ll last for many years
Still in an objective sense it is quite expensive for what it is. Figured I’d covered that enough in my original post about it tho

SOTD: Dior Higher
Pretty generic for the era but nowadays it's an interesting choice, clearly a frag that smells like late 90's akin to the older line Axe, think the Dunhill frags catered to young men like X-Centric, but very clean fruity without being sweet, quite dry woody with the cedar with a hint of musk, dries down to a creamy soapiness common in expensive hand soap. Manly as fuck somehow despite being sprayable soap.
It's Ultramale but for men, like a Nautica Voyage but expensive, not quite atomic but it does last 6 hours. Calvin Klein Underwear-tier ads but oh well.
I wear Boss bottled absolu in the summer.

How can I smell like a powerful, sophisticated, bisexual sex pest? I want something that leans feminine but at the same time is very imposing, or even has notes that imply promiscuity and dominance. I tried Byredo Animalique and it was a very close to what Im looking for, leather, floral, musky, maybe if the leather scent was stronger. Any pointers?

EdT is fresh and citrusy with a more prominent floral heart.
EdP amps up the leather and vanilla.
In the dry down they both have that long lasting guerlinade signature accord.
So it's more a matter of preference rather than one being better than the other.
The only flanker I've tried was the Parfum, which to me just smelled like cola candies, but it was only a brief sample at the airport on a tester strip.

SOTD: Baldessarini by Hugo Boss
Really damn good, an eau de cologne with an orange and mint top and a light woody amber drydown with mildly-spiced tobacco. Somehow works like a freshie, airy but distinguishable.
Got discontinued but this should've stayed in the Boss line-up, 4-hour performance and got it quite cheap despite being vintage, zero staleness.
A tragedy this is no longer around, supposedly the original 150+ dollar Tom Ford for Men was a dupe of this baby created by Pierre Wargnye, the mind behind Drakkar Noire and Boss #1 among other gems like the one today.

>>18460450>Only got dethroned by Le MaleWrong, Boss #1 was known for that way before Le Male, being that frag was more sold in the US than the YSL, although to be fair the Hugo Boss is a variation of the Kouros DNA.
What really dethroned them was Joop! in its original formula, notorious in the gay clubbing scene. Then Le Male came around a couple of years later but both were present until the mid-00's.
>to signal homo intentKouros was a massive hit and everyone used it, it's not like it was dead-on used only by fags. Although there's room for interpretation that everyone used it because fags made it popular or the other way around, after all Le Male got popular due to the homosexual club scene in France and Dior Hommo sweet iris DNA is popular among the youth due to trannies and butches using it initially in the gender fluid fashion movement in the mid-10's.
