I got Mary Kay Quattro. The mid notes are a great grescent before it turns a bit soapy. Good thing that doesn't last because it's a cologne before it settles into the faint woody smell. Nice everyday, clean, splash.

what opinion do u have for deodorant frags (like old spice), and i don`t mean like aquatic and fresh vomit scents, old spice have vanilla deodorants that smellls amazing like oasis (50% similarity to TF TV) and recently new in the line epic legend (lmao) smells very simillair to that smoky wood note from By The Fireplace by MM.

Also got Aramemes, it's nice but not for me so I gave it to my dad. It's very herbal at first before settling down, lasts quite a bit. It was just too cheap smelling for me. It smells like how much it costs. I also gave my dad an old Polo Blue because that's what he used to wear, I couldn't say what it smells like because all I smell is my dad when I was young. He now hints that his bottle of BdC has run dry so I'll try to find him a vintage one.

Blue Jeans was my first fragrance I think when i was a teen, or maybe Armani Eau Pour Homme from my Dad, I can't remember.
Have fond memories of it, and I recently tried it again in the store, it's good, if only a little generic, and I think I'm too old for it now.
No idea what the performance is.
Cheap enough for a blind buy though so why not just grab it?

My birthday order came in:
>Bentley for Men Intense
Pretty fucking amazing. The rum note is subtle. You won't smell like a sailor on shore leave. Woody and rich without being astringent. Gonna be a real treat come fall.
>Bentley for Men Absolute
Kinda disappointed in this one to be honest. It's far more medicinal than I expected. Might still be good on skin though. Not giving up yet.
>Encre Noire Sport
I've got a bottle of a'la Extreme and the OG, and I think this one might be the best. It's certainly the most versatile and work friendly. I don't really get any of the aquatic notes I've heard folks talk about, but it is very fresh l.
>Eau de Rochas Home
This one came as a bit of a surprise. It's very similar to Plat Egoiste, perhaps a bit lighter and greener. Fucking excellent for $35. This will immediately be in the summer office rotation for the near future.

Anyone know about creed atomizers? I decided kind of on a whim to get some of these probably-vastly-overpriced ($95) 5mL creed atomizers cuz I’m gonna be traveling a bit this summer. And damn they are actually really nice. Nicer than I was expecting. I mean they should be for that price but I was expecting to just get fleeced on brand name but at least still get something decent. The spray is way nicer than on their actual fragrance bottles. It’s like sauvage’s sprayer. Magnetic cap and the glass insert (I guess most of those travel atomizers with the spray-in bottoms are actually plastic?) is magnetic. Overall construction feels pretty nice.
Anyway, mini-review aside I was wondering if anyone knows if the 10mL and 50mL ones they sell are similar. Magnetic stuff and the most quality. It looks like the 5mL ones are new. Can’t find any info about them online

I own EDT and Elixir. The rest of them I’ve smelled at stores. imo the two I have are the only ones worth owning. And EDT is overall still the best, because if you’re gonna get a small bottle of some strong winter frag you might as well get absolu aventus or just something else. I know you said no elixir anyway but thought that context might be useful
EDT is really good imo as a versatile freshie and imo EDP and Parfum are just riding the coattails and aren’t as good. The downside of course is that it’s not exactly a unique smell

Is that supposed to be hypocritical or something? I make decent money. I’ll get use out of them. I could have returned them if they ended up being really jank, and it turns out they’re quite nice. I’d prefer to use a flacon and these to the spray bottles anyway. An unexpected happy ending

That’s fair. I’d have thought the same thing a couple of years ago (made a lot less money) and if I didn’t have them in-hand to feel the difference. I also don’t have a ton of different frags in rotation anymore, either. So not like I’m gonna buy a ton more of them. Hopefully they’ll last for many years
Still in an objective sense it is quite expensive for what it is. Figured I’d covered that enough in my original post about it tho

SOTD: Dior Higher
Pretty generic for the era but nowadays it's an interesting choice, clearly a frag that smells like late 90's akin to the older line Axe, think the Dunhill frags catered to young men like X-Centric, but very clean fruity without being sweet, quite dry woody with the cedar with a hint of musk, dries down to a creamy soapiness common in expensive hand soap. Manly as fuck somehow despite being sprayable soap.
It's Ultramale but for men, like a Nautica Voyage but expensive, not quite atomic but it does last 6 hours. Calvin Klein Underwear-tier ads but oh well.

You have balls, the arab slop dupes are actually pretty good, particularly the Emper one, as the original isn't that great anyways. You can get them for 30 to 40 bucks.
Paradise Garden would be my top pick, but if you want cheap and not Le Beau then >>18459877 this, CW Intense is a very zoomer but subtle take on the DNA.

I agree, it's very tarty lemony as it was the trend back in the 60's, but the vetiver is there in wet hay form and the sweet tobacco in the deep drydown.
Vetiver is a somewhat misleading name but it does have it.

Soda is always an accord not a note (like leather) so it varies depending on the perfumer. Most of the times it’s achieved it’s using something with a black cherry note and a few other notes I don’t recall off the top of my head, but there’s definitely an element of interpretation.

You were made to understand wrong, same designer but their top and heart notes develop quite differently, the drydown is akigawamalawood but i do think they are not redundant at all
>I remember disliking how screechy the mandarin was

>>18459909

Well said
>there’s definitely an element of interpretation
That can be said about anything, and black cherry is certainly not a soda note universally known. There's way too many soda flavors to use "soda" as a valid accord name.

>L'ol lmaoxte: literally listerine
>Yuzu: good if you want to smell like basil
>Riviera Verbena: good start, then turns into something chemical and unpleasant
>Kiss Me Intense: could be a great one but she overdid it with the vanilla
>Caravanserail Intense: leave it to pajeets
>Bois Belize: petroly leather that turns into something incomprehensible and unpleasant, also weak
>Angelys Pear: shampoo-tier pear, a failure
>Néroli Intense: yet another boring soapy frag
>Cuir Cuba Intense: this one is not bad, but it feels cloying and a bit pissy after some time
I think that should be enough.

The technical answer is that citrus and fresh molecules are lighter than heavier woody and musky molecules so they don't last as long. The functional answer is that fragrances can overstay their welcome, you might want a cologne to freshen up after a shower but you might not want that smell in the evening. Long lasting fresh scents like Bois Imperial are chemical warfare that are more detergents than perfume.

They're very different.
EdT is fresh and citrusy with a more prominent floral heart.
EdP amps up the leather and vanilla.
In the dry down they both have that long lasting guerlinade signature accord.
So it's more a matter of preference rather than one being better than the other.
The only flanker I've tried was the Parfum, which to me just smelled like cola candies, but it was only a brief sample at the airport on a tester strip.

SOTD: Baldessarini by Hugo Boss
Really damn good, an eau de cologne with an orange and mint top and a light woody amber drydown with mildly-spiced tobacco. Somehow works like a freshie, airy but distinguishable.
Got discontinued but this should've stayed in the Boss line-up, 4-hour performance and got it quite cheap despite being vintage, zero staleness.
A tragedy this is no longer around, supposedly the original 150+ dollar Tom Ford for Men was a dupe of this baby created by Pierre Wargnye, the mind behind Drakkar Noire and Boss #1 among other gems like the one today.

French are going full arab and do not macerate their shit, let's be honest the fraghead addiction in the community is a thing now and frogs move lots more volume than ever and have to phase out the stuff in their vats more often than before.

>>18460450
>Only got dethroned by Le Male
Wrong, Boss #1 was known for that way before Le Male, being that frag was more sold in the US than the YSL, although to be fair the Hugo Boss is a variation of the Kouros DNA.
What really dethroned them was Joop! in its original formula, notorious in the gay clubbing scene. Then Le Male came around a couple of years later but both were present until the mid-00's.
>to signal homo intent
Kouros was a massive hit and everyone used it, it's not like it was dead-on used only by fags. Although there's room for interpretation that everyone used it because fags made it popular or the other way around, after all Le Male got popular due to the homosexual club scene in France and Dior Hommo sweet iris DNA is popular among the youth due to trannies and butches using it initially in the gender fluid fashion movement in the mid-10's.

If you didn't pay MSRP for your Lalique purchase you wouldn't have payed the premium for maceration and that's why they don't do it. It's up to the customer. What you can do is go to a physical store and look up the batch codes until you find the oldest in which case you will likely be paying MSRP.

>Sundowner
It's a nice evening scent but for my taste it's a bit sweet and too much vanilla. The tobacco and cocoa notes are fantastic.
>ACDD
A spicier, fancier version of LDDM. Quite popular but gets too ambery on the base notes.
>Air Suisse
The top notes are amazing and realistic to the theme. People pleasing but some notes displease me.
>LDDM
Another people pleaser but the ambery base is not to my taste. The rest is quite spectacular and the performance is fantastic.
>Rose de Kandahar
The best from the brand. Men can wear it but I think it suits women better. The apricot, almond, rose are quite captivating and the performance is fantastic.
>Incense Rose
Quite interesting and unique. I like it a lot but want to test it more before I buy it. I get camphor and rose but it's unlike anything I can articulate.

Andy is very talented but I don't like putting perfumers in a pedestal like so many easily do. Every nose is different and I can appreciate his work even if it doesn't suit my nose. I always think it's funny that he is known for his oriental ambers but I enjoy his rose perfumes better, by a lot. As long as you have realistic expectations it's a great brand to sample.

You seem to have tried the pretentious pseudo-niche slop, why? you can do just as well with Guerlain and other brands like that, seeing Delphinus i think you might like L'Homme Ideal (Intense to be specific) it's a similar premise but for men.

So, usually one spray in 3, 5 7 or up to 10 places in the body. I rather re-apply after around 3-4 hours. But I always feel retarded on _where_ to reapply? in the fucking bathroom? autism_intensifies.

Which Poison? the old school one you posted was an indole bomb, smelled like rotten flowers, incense and musk.
nuPoison is a sweet fruity frag for girls, i know that perfume well because i had to track down various versions for my mom, it got so reformulated it should be considered a different scent nowadays like how YSL had to relaunch Opium

>>18460984
More than 4 means the fragrance is weak, for outdoors perhaps 6 if i really want to do an impression, if not then a traveler spray with 4 sprays when i arrive where i intend to stay. Usually outdoors what smokes a frag is the sun and air of moving around.

I don't know how new are you but the frag industry in Europe has been pushing the unisex tagline for almost 2 decades by now, Vagrantica are so not going to include it ever at this point, it's part of the androgynous agenda and the reason why iris is being pushed as a masculine note when it never has and never will be one.

Yes, but there is an interaction between the ingredients that keep fermenting. And, as said, takes years.

mostly, yes. if its a clone or dupe, there might be a reason for it as they were probably made on an order basis. if youre buying a direct niche or designer frag, then its good to go out of the box.
your nose and taste changes overtime so i guess people think when they start to like a fragrance more after having it for awhile then thats "maceration"

You have to macerate your fragrances for at least 8 years but that's when it starts to lose the potency especially in the top notes. So you only have about 4 months of peak performance, any other time is suboptimal.

Christ, the original Cedrat Boise is nasty smelling, the opening being especially abrasive. The drydown is more tolerable and of course lasts an eternity. I think they fixed a lot of the problems with the Intense version, but still I don't know how the o.g. got so popular.

Well, yeah that's true as well. There was one in particular, I think Black Noir, among the worst things I've ever smelled.

It's synthetic slop but the Intense version does not fix the poor performance in the latter batches, Mancera went full slop when they got popular.
A friend of mine picked it as his signature and he hates it's not abrasive enough, some people are loonies, particularly him who unironically sprays more than 10 times. HR and administration people are just attention whores.

CB Intense is weaker yes, but the opening is also less nauseating. I wouldn't buy it regardless.

Finally got my nose on Baccarat Rouge. How did they convince women to wear this shit? Smells like Cool Water but with the faintest hint of fruit in the opening.

SOTD Jeke by Slumberhouse.

Thoughts on this house? I've tried 3 and it seems incredibly overrated and overhyped. I'm on the fence. Two of them were candy tobacco balsamic shit and another was marzipan shit. Nothing to write home about but I've never seen a house so overhyped and celebrated (by redditjaks mostly)

The instagram was deleted recently, never any word when he releases a frag, just dumps them out spontaneously. Everyone goes crazy over them. I thought he was kinda based until I tried the perfumes now I get the impression he's a hack, though I'll reserve my final opinion once I try more Slumberhouse candy syrups.

His black metal history is cringe too with him lying about having female bandmembers (saying in an interview "oh ya we would smoke a joint, dress up funny, douse ourselves in perfume and jam"), taking other band's recorded songs and slowing them down to make "ambient". Gives off nothing but really gay incel vibes. His penchant for lying/trolling the public raises A LOT of suspicions.

I usually avoid clones for the obvious reasons, but I recently heard about these guys and it peaked my interest.
My addiction to smelly water is under control, but I could justify buying a few more bottles if they were only $40 or $50 bucks.
