Jasmine + cigarette + apricot

A surprising balance in which jasmine—pure yet “tainted” by tobacco—reigns supreme alongside an unexpected note of apricot, hay, and a faint soapy softness. On the nose it evokes a smoker’s car or an ashtray, but in a seductive, not unpleasant way: like a dignified woman wearing a white-flower perfume yet ruining herself with smoke, her breath smelling of cigarettes and her clothes holding the echo, yet her allure remains intact. Alternatively, it calls to mind a waitress who’s just finished her smoke break and tries to mask the scent by generously spritzing her white-floral perfume. There’s no bitterness or acrid smoky edge: the tobacco is so well blended with the jasmine that they seem inseparable, dancing together in harmony, and the hint of “ash” never feels offensive or harsh. The result is sweet, suave, vaguely aldehydic (or perhaps that’s just the jasmine), with a haunting, melancholic beauty—utterly feminine yet comforting without being warm. Easily wearable, it’s a fragrance that enchants with its fragile, weathered elegance.

Got a bottle of Ralph Lauren Romance for men. The top notes gave me flashbacks of wearing Kenneth Cole Black as a teen with the ginger and mandarine notes. I even got the same alcohol smell because Black was my only fragrance for a while and made me noseblind to anything but the alcohol. Unlike Black it doesn't go too woody and spicy, instead it stays fresher and cleaner. Felt a little bit lacking since my brain was expecting something else. It last longer and settles in a very shampoo like scent, likely due to the musk and pine. Call me crazy but the base reminds me a bit of what Bois Imperial tried to do but it doesn't get as synthetic but just as feminine. Romance is not my favorite but I can see wearing it on a hot day when I want something to last.

A lot of people hate on Sauvage because it is popular.
I feel the BdC hate is because it is too safe (as >>18468146 implies. It is the "safest" of the blue fragrances).
I like it, have the 3 flankers on rotation, but I admit it is safe and boring. A good office dumb reach.
Also, some batches of the EdP (which all retarded influencers shilled) are just incense bombs. Couple that with Chanel lack of discounter's availability (everybody is a poorfag), shit performance, a lot of retards claiming it is "a masterpiece", not in vogue in an era of vanilla and amber bombs, etc.
The people that hate it have a lot of reasons to think it is overrated crap.

I'm 24 and new to the world of colognes. Colognes or perfumes? I don't even know the difference. Anyways, I'm looking for something that captures the feeling of a shambolic life—nights spent drifting from one party to the next, sweating through punk gigs, drinking too much, and crashing hungover on a park bench as the sun comes up. I want something raw, messy, and a little bit romantic in a self-destructive way. Think Pete Doherty at his most unhinged. No fruity or overly clean scents—I want something that smells like cigarettes, booze, leather, and last night’s chaos. My budget is around 50 EUR, but I’m open to going higher if it really hits the mark.

I'm not going to pay 700 dollars for it but Insider Parfums has a clone of it and I'm going to have to break my no clone rule. DK Unleaded smells like generic 90s or 2000s trash. Reminds me of Davidoff Goodlife (which is very mediocre). Definitely a good example of a mediocre perfume getting overhyped because it's discontinued.

Many such cases. Fuel for Men is nice but nothing spectacular, definitely not worth the current asking price. The bottle is truly a work of art so I don't regret my purchase. I hate how there are so many people out there including youtubers that have huge collections and have smelled thousands of perfumes and they don't do a simple PSA to show which fragrances smell closest to overpriced discontinued ones.

I've been reading and occasionally posting in these threads for years and at this point I'm absolutely amazed at just how narrow minded you fuckers are. I only ever see the same 50 perfumes talked about in here. Even the people that think they're different by wearing niche (but not mainstream niche! look how unique we are!) are stuck to like Francesca Bianchi, Nicolai, 4160 Tuesdays, ELDO, etc. and never branch out. It's rare to see a vintage perfume get talked about unless it's a meme like Kouros (one of the best perfumes ever made, but a meme nonetheless). It's pitiful.

Speaking of vintage I also got a bottle of Fendi Uomo. I didn't like the first application which just smelled like a weaker version of Fendi EDT (which is amazing but for ladies). I reapplied and it's definitely weaker but focusing on the lavender in the top notes strangely make it a bit of a fresh fougere then the patchouli with milder florals set it a bit apart from the Fendi EDT. They are definitely similar, I was just surprised. I was expecting a harsh and brutish old school leather but it's quite gentle and wearable. It still has that outdated scent because of the carnation. I think Fendi EDT is better but this is much more wearable for me as a man.

You don't with Creed. You're either trolling or brown. Smell any of their current perfumes and tell me you're getting 500 dollars worth of composition or ingredients. The only thing I can think of that still smells good is Original Vetiver and that used to cost 20 dollars before Mugler Cologne got discontinued. The women's perfumes are especially bad. I’ve never cared for any iris frags, powdery notes as a whole come off very feminine too. Vanilla depends on how it’s used imo, and violet is usually an oddball and can go in a ton of different directions so I disagree there, BUT I do wonder what it would be like to smell something like a Dior Homme on a woman.

>>18469080
PRM smelled way more green than aquatic to me. And in my opinion most major designer (AKA “safe”) aquatic scents are boring and easy to pass on. Once you’ve smelled one Calone frag you’ve pretty much smelled them all.
The only ones that are some degree of interesting are the weird, slightly more low-tide type aquatics such as those in >>18469096 (and Megamare) but they’re obviously less public friendly.

It's at least worth smelling before you make any decision. The EDP is a pretty safe blind buy if you like blue fragrances. I blind bought it and enjoy it a lot; though I do think longevity is a slight issue.

It's not super strong but it's quite nauseating to me because of the sweetness of the tobacco. It's not a luxury tobacco but a "years of accumulated cigarette smoke on the inside of a car". It also lasts ridiculously long. I wish I could find someone to gift it to that I would never be around to smell again.

idk about US stores because of the abundance of cheap thieving niggas roaming around but here in Aus they literally throw the company-provided samples at you without having to ask, like theyre trying to get rid of them. Everytime I go to a beauty store with my gf I end up getting 15-20ml worth of free designer samples without trying to. For niche fragrances you have to show you’re interested in trying them out before dropping big bucks and they’ll happily give you 1-2 samples of expensive niche ones, any more and they’ll tell you to buy a discovery pack. Picrel was given to me yesterday after trying some testers in a few different sections.

There is not a single post on the internet outside of this nepali basket weaving forum, that says Habit Rouge is the 'old spice' of india.
Googling 'habit rouge' and filtering for reddit's desi fragrance addicts, do not show anything other that an assortment of jeets just discovering the fragrance.
Indians like blue fragrances, spicy and sweet shit, just like the current zoomers.
Old indians (in india) smell like poop, and pseudo americanized pajeets cover that smell by copying the white men 10 years later, before going into arab slop.

In my area of the US it’s the exact opposite, getting fragrance samples is like pulling teeth. I can be genuinely interested in buying a fragrance AFTER I’ve had the chance to test it on skin a couple times but if you walk into a major fragrance retailer and ask for a sample of they’ll almost always say “We don’t have any.” One of the few exceptions is Sephora, they almost always have the ‘self made’ decant sprays and can make you one, but they also have the most limited selection.

>Be me, be late last year, Eros Energy just dropped
>Curious to get a sample of new frag to try on skin
>Go to Dillards in local mall
>Well groomed, well dressed, want to give good impression since requesting free stuff
>Directly approach sales hag and ask if new Eros is in
>Yes
>”Oh great, could I get a sample please? Would love to try it on skin a few times before purchasing.”
>Sorry don’t have any samples
>BullshitSalesAssociateSmile.jpg
>”Oh, wow, not even any of the make your own sample vaporizers?”
>Nope, sorry
>BullshitSalesAssociateSmileIntensifies.gif
>Walk back into mall, go to Sephora
>Approach cute sales girl, repeat Eros Energy question
>Not in
>Idea.exe
>”Do you have any of those little make your own sample vaporizers? Dillards has the fragrance but no samples.”
>Oh yes, please have one
>Thank young sales associate and return to Dillards
>Go straight to Eros Energy tester and start filling sample vaporizer
>Sales hag patrolling fragrance route
>Notices me and can damn near see the exclamation point appear over her head
>Bee-lines over to me
>Cut her off before she can say a word
>”Since you were out of the create your own sample vaporizers the girl in Sephora was kind enough to give me one.”
>ShitEatingGrin.png
>Oh, that’s nice…
>Fragrance Hag is visibly upset but does nothing
>Turn 360° and walk out the store

Thanks for coming to my GreenText.

Never thought about it like this until now, but Sephora always has young sales associates and all the department store fragrance counter women are old hags, maybe that’s the real reason. Just salty old twats being salty and old.

Also also, my area of the US does have its fair share of the browns, so that could also play a role.

Vetiver was not powdery at all, but I didn’t care for its degree of earthiness. Don’t hate either of them, but nor did I love them enough to warrant a full bottle. The Neroli Outrenoir was fantastic, if I were to ever see it on a discounter (not that I expect to) for even a marginal discount I’d prob pick it up without a second thought, but for full price I’m content to pass for now.
