Bertrand Deuchafour did something interesting here with the light crisp floral note right in the middle. It reminds me that Men's fragrances could have different florals in the heart. Like Champaign d' Caron. That's just an aftershave, but it blows most men's frags out of the water.

So, I've never tried the Aventus, but tried a couple of its clones. Namely the CDNIM, and Montblanc Explorer. And I barely smell anything. I don't even smell the synthetic lemon in the CDNIM opening.
I just smell something harsh, and then something less harsh.
And it's the same for all the clones I've tried.

I have no issues with any other fragrance.
But for all of the Aventus clones. It's not that I don't like them. It's that they don't even smell like perfume to me.
So either I'm not perceptible to chemicals used with the cheaper clones. (But again, only aventus clones) Or, most likely, I wouldn't able to smell Aventus either.

Anyone with the similar experience?

reading the reviews, apparently the original version got progressively worse thanks to IFRA and was eventually discontinued. Then it got resuscitated into a new version in 2013, which is actually very close to the original. not as good, lacks oakmoss partially, but relatively speaking it got very lucky with the reformulation roulette.

guys, hear me out:

OG one million + hermann

they combine so damn well.
OG one million has always reminded me of a damp marble crypt filled with flowers pots, with that strong pungent white flowers smell that funeral homes use to mask the smell of death. But it doesn't give off any eerie/gloomy feel.
Hermann is obviously pretty decadent, cold and melancholic. Reminds me of a little village cemetery after rain, with graves of loved ones and long dead roses, and also the lingering smell of your grandma, that occupies your memories.
I have them together on my hand and the combination is surreal.
An utterly enticing and decidedly funeral mix at the same time. Floral and warm but definitely not "comfortable". off-putting, but in a good way, in a charming way, if that makes sense.
since both perfumes are pungent in their own way, the final mix is violent, it's complex in a distracting way.

Opening 60 seconds, couldn't smell much at all, just the alcohol.
Then for the next minute or two, its was literally like glue. Sour and plastic.
Finally some pleasant florals came through, but there was zero projection, I had to be point black to my hand so smell it.

After ten minutes of this pleasant but weak scent, I sprayed some Egoiste over the top, which totally replaced The Dreamer, and lasted the whole rest of the day. The warm woody rose was such a joy, and a relief.

So The Dreamer - not even worth the low price of ยฃ25, maybe the old releases were good, but what I tried in store today was pure garbage.

Just got a few 0.7ml samples from Luckyscent. I kind of regret it because they're all dabbers instead of atomizers.
How the hell am I supposed to use these things? I got dizzy from hyperventilating too hard trying to breathe in the scents so I can smell them.
All of them also smell like chemicals initially. It's very prominent and nasty. I'm guessing it's because they're samples and dabbing doesn't spread scents evenly, so it's a condensed mess.
I feel like I'm supposed to smell frankincense but it takes a while before it comes out of it's disgusting chemical stage.

Pic related is an unexpected banger. Probably fucking amazing in winter.

Every fucking faggot thinks they're a perfume expert. Euroitalia hasn't distributed D&G Pour Homme in probably 20 years. This retard's argument that it's not actually vintage because it's not dark yellow is stupid. I've got two other Euroitalia bottles and they have the same clear yellow color. Now I'm left with the choice of paying this guy's return shipping to me or giving him the bottle.
