Any good JScent recommendations?
Got a friend currently in japan and I was interested in the brand + they are just like 35$ in japan compared to the 110 here in the states so I thought I'd ask her to bring everything that interests me since I could always flip the ones I don't like anyways for a profit.
>>18479509nope, all of it is slop
Tonight I layered Kouros with oud fragrance oil. No more toilet smell. No more pee smell.
>>18479511Did you try them out in japan or like a scent bar type store?
>>18479514ew, no

>>18479549>ELDO Rien>Gucci Guilty Absolute>HdP 1740>Nasomatto Duroyw
I woke up at midnight, sprayed Dior Sauvage and fell asleep again
>>18479526That tells you nothing when there are 25 listed allergens and likely dozens of other ingredients. If it had any less alcohol you couldn't pour it out the vial. When compared to an Eau de Parfum like the similar L'oudh the viscosity of the Attar perfume oil looks and performs completely different. That's all the blurb was saying.

Is amber basically camphor?
>>18479622No. Amber is a broad category of sweet and resinous materials. Camphor doesn't smell like those, it is more fresh and minty
>>18479616Maybe just get those maison alhambra tom ford clones or ombrรฉ leather or tuscan leather.
Just to mess with it.
>>18479622No amber have a sweet and a bit spicy nuances while camphor is minty almost eucalyptus like but both are in oriental category
>>18479610You will never find something perfect like anon said
>>18479612. Your signature fragrance is just your favorite until something else comes along. If you're poor get a patchouli oil attar and that will be your signature until you find something to replace it. >>18479549I just bought ADP leather, I'll let you know how it is once it arrives. I also checked Guerlain cuir intense and it's pretty good, Tom Ford ombre leather is a bit too sweet heavy and dense for me. I also saw a release from mont Blanc called intense leather and it's rather cheap. So why don't you try that and report back?
Y EDP review
A precise mix of Sous le Pont Mirabeau and Invictus parfum. It has that aromatic, laurel-like, savory/salty aspect of ELDO's creation (with less marine notes, but still feels like a siren coming out of the salty see, under the scorching hot sun, covered in algaes) and the soapy (as in bar of soap) and bubblegummy feeling of Invictus Parfum.
Also it definitely has that Blue Fragrance DNA.
Not sweet.
I don't get apple, but I do get ginger. I get amber as well, perhaps.
Kinda universal perfume, I don't see it being restricted to certain prerequisites. Maybe not for winter. And it's not a clubbing scent like some people say , but it can work in that context easily.
Eau Givree review
Literally smells like sage leaves you just mangled with you hand, with all the facets of that specific smell.
I mean, really pleasant and all, but not something I would wear.
Versace Man Eau Fraiche review
Stereotypical summer perfume. But not in a bad way, mind you.
very citrusy and fresh and clean and invigorating.
So pleasant.
Nothing unique, but it hardly matters.
MYSLF Eau de Parfum review
Light , sweet and very smooth, somewhat barbershoppy smell, especially in the opening.
Gently floral + gently citrusy.
Steamy, aldehydic, or lactonic.
Some sandalwood.
Some faint Incense stick.
Totally safe. Maybe too much.
Reminds me of a wedding white shirt.

>>18479815then don't wear a cumin heavy fragrance, there's no way around the armpit stank

>>18479815African Leather

>>18479815YMMV but Quorum and Experimentum Crucis both have a prominent cumin note that gives them a BO stank. There are other frags that have the BO stank but cumin isnโt a listed note (like Pasha de Cartier Parfum), so it would only be speculation on my part, but Iโve seen others comment on it as well in reviews, so I donโt think itโs just me.
>>18479822 >>18479823Thanks. I've seen in review cumin smells like Indian food lol. I have an idea, i think it comes as peppery - spicy to me. I say this because some note smell diff to me, like coriander is too aldehydic for me instead of lemony like people describe
>>18479823>Quorum has a prominent cumin note that gives them a BO stank.no it does not
After a few wears I am sorry to say that I do not particularly enjoy Encre Indigo. I mean it's fine; it's a tea-based freshie with a little bit of citrus. But I find it dry and boring, and the iso e-super dominates too much. The rest of the EN line is more balanced with the inky, dusty vetivers (original), incense (extreme), or citrus (sport). Encre Indigo just has no character. Shame, it's the only one from the line I will not own a bottle of.
>>18479823>it's another episode of the "notes list equals ingredients" amateur hourOh boy.
>>18479854lalique never made a good fragrance
Has anyone gotten to try ADG Profondo EDT?
>>18479879I bought a bottle a few weeks ago. It's a nice, clean scent, very similar to ADG. It has a more stringent, sour kick in it. It's not better than ADG, but it is good.
>>18479879Not sure why anyone would want a weaker version of an already weak frag but I guess they're running out of ideas for the AdG line.
>>18479892Because it's a nice scent and inexpensive, as far as good scents go.
>>18479894Since it's a new release, it costs more than the Profondo, but it's a weaker version.
Makes no sense to me.
Just buy the Profondo and spray less if you like it but think it's strong (it's not strong).
Stop rewarding companies that churn out slop and charge a premium for it.
>>18479896>Stop rewarding companies that churn out slop and charge a premium for it.It's relatively little money to me, so I'll do what I please. Maybe if you went back to school and got a better job you wouldn't feel the need to seethe about someone else buying it.

If you want to smell like pistachio ice cream with a hint of rose then this is you
I tried Jo malone fragrances at an airport, I really liked a few of them. There's one that smells like roses and that's how I want my gf to smell.
Also there was a lady nigger passing by screaming "Joe mallowne, Joe mallowne" which I found amusing, those animals crave attention. And Chicago is so full of niggers, even the ones that "work" at the airport are useless pieces of shit. They are loud and annoying. How do Americans cope with that?
>>18480074Have you tested myrrh and tonka?
I want to try Gentleman Society Extreme.
>>18480077Yes, I spent most of the time I was there in the shop. It's sweet, dense and pleasant. I don't know how much I would wear it, though.
Most, if not all of the fragrances are completely unisex, I enjoyed poppy and barley, red roses, blackberry and bay, and lime and basil the most. I can easily see myself wearing those daily as a middle aged man.
There's also something like oud with roses, but I don't like oud, I don't understand the hype.

>>18480620I have a bottle of the oil, it smells like an '80s powerhouse in the same vein as Kouros, but it's more mellow and playful.
It doesn't have the lemon oil/urinal cake note, it' s not very stinky, and it rather smells of honey, patchouli, and a bit of yellow flowers.
I haven't smelled Lapidus PH but judging from the notes list I'd say it's the closer of the two.
>>18480620I couldn't stand it, doesn't smell anything and I mean absolutely anything like kouros or Lapidus. I threw it away, it's just that bad. Fucking waste of money all the arab shit.

I got a bottle of Victoria Secret Very Sexy for Him. The listed notes are quite interesting but I can't smell any of them, except for maybe tangerine on the top, herbs in the middle, and a bit of clean musks. I think that's partly due to the sweetness that turns all the notes into a linear scent. It's quite a nice scent but the performance is atrocious. Right after spraying it on it feels like you only get part of the scent and have to look for the rest. As someone who enjoys mild performance this is quite nice for me, very relaxing. When compared to Ralph Lauren Romance for Men or Kenneth Cole Black the top notes with the tangerine/mandarin are similar, so much so that I thought VS had ginger notes. They are all very youthful fresh fragrances, with Romance being the longest lasting, cleanest shampoo smell. VS feels a bit less juvenile and doesn't smell synthetic to me. I want to keep trying VS to see if I can pinpoint the listed notes but it's probably just marketing fluff. I like VS, it lets me smell good and clean without nuking myself and losing myself.
>>18480609In what respect? Which one is the most accurate dupe?
/Frag/ do you ever have bottles just spontaneously leak from around the vaporizer? Not like a blow out, like old pressurized bottles do as they age, just leak as in you pick up your bottle and thereโs a ton of juice under the cap and around the spray head?
>>18480853oh i get it. sure, it's just a part of getting older, don't worry abou tit.

>>18480840I've never smelled megamare but I had a bottle of atlas last year and it would just give me a dizzy headache from either the salt or ambroxan. it just sucked. megara smells like a chlorinated pool with a little bit of woodiness and watery freshness, like you just came out of the pool and you can smell a little bit of a cologne you were wearing. megara isn't as pungent but lasts all day, and you'll smell yourself with 2-3 sprays practically all day.

I really like the smell of ginger in fragrances and am looking for something with that note for the summer. Anyone have a recommendation where the ginger is at least a little pronounced for the heat?

>>18480920Have you tried this? I don't know if it holds up, but I used to wear it as it teen and it was nice. It's cheap but it doesn't last long. I wouldn't get it if you're looking for a mature and sophisticated scent. It's a youthful and playful fragrance.
>>18479509Black Leather, Honey Lemon and Paper soap
Polo Blue Gold is my favorite ginger frag, smells like you have daddys money at a good price
YSL Y if you want to level up a bit, the ginger mellows with apples but it's still a nice scent
>>18480920honestly YSL LโHomme or LโHomme Ultime are still pretty hard to beat
YSL Myslf edp smells better than 66% of niche slop.

Most animalic fragrances out there? I like the animalic side of Kouros but I don't like the other half which is more floral or "perfumy".

>>18481074I think this is ultimately too clean and too soapy. The Dior Original DNA that got Iris into the mix for men was more interesting. I would pick Dior Homme Original. the one with the yellow juice and the "original" on the front. or the actual original bottles from way back. That's my recommendation for other people. My personal favorite clean Iris freshie is Givenchy Gentleman EdT. The black cap clear bottle black label. the original one that everyone forgot. It's Iris + Pear and it's the best smell on Earth.

>>18481348coincidentally my sotd yesterday. but it won't be popular as it's been discontinued some years ago.
I got samples and here's what I think
Enclave - Amouage - Velvet / Vetiver Rose + Mint. Really nice like a velvet jacket with a good bit of freshness for quite a while. Soft warming effect from the patchouli in the heart. I think this can technically be worn anytime, but I think it works better when its cooler. It reminds me of Guerlain Homme from the mint, but the body here is "purple."
Journey Man - Amouage - A lighter fresher fragrance with a top that's full of spices and a body that's full of spices. This is a really nice and interesting fragrance for getting work done. The top is light green from the mix of bergamot and sechuan pepper, but smoothed out from the cardamom and neroli. It's a very cool effect that's does fresh modern but also old school throwback at the same time. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under 30.
Colognise - Nishane - A very very classic cologne but with more layers. The smell at the top reminds me almost exactly of 4711, but after you spray it you get the Tea, Vetiver, and musk layers that make this stand out. I think this is an excellent no-brainer for literally any guy. It's also like Mugler cologne if That had more levels to it.
Still need to try Dia man, Honour Man, Overture Man, and Wet stone by Amouroud
