What ever happened to fedoras? I remember them being big with autists for years in the late 2000s/early 2010s

Mocked out of existence sadly. It's absolutely impossible for a man to wear a wide brim hat of any sort anymore. Well I suppose if you're a darkie it can be pulled off under the "muh vibrancy muh soul" myth. Cosplaying as a jazzman from the 30s is something moon crickets do well

I lived through those times and while I never had a fedora or felt the urge to own one, most guys I knew (except for one) were pretty cool guys

the one was a total caricature though, white neckbeard, only interested in asian women, preferably asian women with a thick foreign accent, goatee, incel glasses, the works

he never wronged me but there was this asiatic woman he was into, who was more into me, and I think he kind of resented me for that. I was stupid and didn't tap and I regret it

They are sort of back without being fully back like they once were. The types of men and some women who wear them today typically just wear them somewhat situationally, during wet or cold weather for fur or wool felt hats, and for the sun and heat for straw and similarly lightweight hats.

My mom sent me an embarrassing photo of myself in middle school wearing a fedora at my birthday party and it brought forth a lot of trauma from this phase

One thing I never understood is that despite their obsession with dressing classy, they never actually did so.

Most of them would wear a fedora but the rest of their outfit would be tshirt and jeans.
Could they not afford a suit or just didn't realize?
