I wish hats in general were more passable than they are now, and by that I mean even the basic bitch kind of green knit cap that I look pretty decent in for some reason, and the like of which can be seen in some color footage circa WWII. Attitudes and habits when it comes comes to hats are pretty fascinating, especially from our now almost hatless perspective. Not that I want a return to the depressing dress-code uniformity of hats one sees in 1930s American street/city photos.

Yeah you''ll sometimes see guys (Never women) with North Face hoods up during severely cold or rainy weather, but hardly anyone in caps of any description no matter what they do for a living. Trucker or farmer caps aren't a thing here at all, and would be out of place in a big rig, combine, or field I've seen since 2015.

--gray linen flat cap for summer
--brown wool fedora for spring/fall
--ushanka for winter (Canada)

When I was in southern China I also wore doulis around. Not the shitty novelty kind, the actual kind worn by farmers. Really nice in both sun and rain. Can be worn with tangzhuang, changpao, hanfu, or just a tshirt and shorts. Picrel, about this circumference
