Could you help me out a bit with choosing some boots? I'm not really from /fa/, and in my country, most high-quality boots are insanely expensive. But I'm on vacation in Europe and wanted to buy a pair. I hate the idea of paying just for the brand, which is why, after reading a bit here, I ruled out Doc Martens.
I'm from /out/, and like most /out/its, I'm into military surplus. But my current boots are khaki, and I was looking for something black and less chunky than standard military boots (a bit more feminine). That’s why I thought something Doc Martens-adjacent might be a good fit.
As I said, I have no clue what's actually effay and what's not. When I saw how many different models Solovair has (and realized I can't really tell most of them apart), I felt completely lost.

Ok so I've been thinking about it for a while and I'm between these models (ffs I hate buying clothes cause I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and I don't want to buy something and end up regretting it. Or worse, not using it):

If I'm going for a solovair 11 eye model I think I'd just pick these instead, especially over something like the astronauts, which look a little bit chunkier than normal ones.

I already have my khaki regular military boots for either going /out/ or pulling edgy 12yo-core looks. And I've got some Chelsea-like greasy boots for more "feminine and formal" fits. So since I already have some greasy ones, I thought some shiny ones could be cool. I want something that lets me be a bit alt without going full autismo mode like with my khaki boots, the Chelsea ones just feel too "formal" sometimes.
But I'm afraid of picking the rangers and ending up looking like shit in them. Especially since I'm super short, and even for my height my legs are short and my ankles are way too wide. So most boots just look weird on me.

I've got a pair of argueyrolles vintage frenchvrangers that I got almost brand new for 20 eurobucks off of some french boomer. I've also got a prepozzed vintage doc martins.
The french rangers are absolute beasts, built like tanks, stiff thick leather and solid construction. The cons is that they tale forever to bteak in and the straps are a pain in the ass to tie on and off.
Since you're in France you can check Vinted, with a bit of digging you can get an almost unused pair for 20-40.

Has a few different types of material. Gives it a smooth touch. And the shiny look is also SO much cooler than the typical Doc Marten boot.
