Are ceramic cases a meme? Why not just coat some stainless steel or titanium? Id rather have a dent than have my watch shatter.

A ceramic case will look exactly as it did the day you bought it, until the day you bump it at just the wrong angle and it shatters.
A coating on a steel case will gradually wear away in time.

Tissot PRX or Citizen Tsuyosa
>>18498263
Neither, integrated bracelet watches are a played out bad joke that I cannot bring myself to laugh at anymore. Especially for cheaper watches, because the entire point is that the bracelet is so good you'll never want to wear it on anything else and watches under $1000 are simply never going to have bracelets that good.

I'll say if I really had to pick one or the other it would probably be the PRX because the bracelet is a little better, the longer power reserve might be better if you want to wear it to work in an office job and put it down on the weekends, and the cyclops on the Tsuyosa is poorly executed.

I got a PRX as a gift from my wife and I love the integrated bracelet on it. It's good for casual church gatherings, school events for the kids, etc. Then I'll wear a fitness tracker for the gym and boxing and anything like that, then the office it's a vintage 70s citizen with a black leather strap.

I think the tsuyosa is cheaper? Isn't it like $400 and the PRX is more like $700 for the automatic one? They might be more or less depending on if youfind one at the mall and they take $200 off just to get a sale.
Another reason why I don't like the Tsuyosa is because they're using Miyota 8000 series movements, older cheaper movements, when they could be using the higher beat 9000 series movements they sell to all of the microbrands. It would mean moving the Tsuyosa up market, but if that meant getting a better movement and maybe even a better bracelet to further justify the cost it might be worth it.
If you have a smaller wrist and want a smaller watch you might find the 37mm Tsuyosa feels better than the 35mm PRX. I was surprised by how small the 35mm PRX looks, usually integrated bracelet watches look a little bigger than they are. If you want a 40mm integrated watch I think the citizen Zenshin might be a little better? It's titanium so it'll be lighter, the dials are nicer, and they make a day and date version and this one with an asymmetrical small seconds subdial. These are kind of cool. and about the same price as the tsuyosa so the value is pretty good.
If you're not married to the idea of getting an integrated bracelet watch there are a lot of options with regular lugs in the Tissot price point. Tissot have the Chemin des Tourelles 39mm, the Gentleman(the only thing that sucks is 21mm lug width), they Heritage 1938, Seiko can get you something like a baby Alpinist or one of the new day date seiko 5s, Hamilton has some good stuff in the Khaki Field or Jazzmaster collections. There is a lot of good stuff.

Ceramic won't age. At all. I've handled a 20 or so year old ceramic Panerai that still looked brand new.
UNLESS IT CRACKS in which case you are turbofucked.
Coated metals will take scratches and visible signs of wear and tear over time. It all depends on the quality of the coating.
ie : the Seiko quartz chronos from the early 80s when that feature was still high end have some very well made plating that wears off slowly and evenly starting from the edges which will look great ; they were really trying to make these a luxury broduct and it shows. Cheap PVD on the other hand will take stratches easily and look like shit because unlike regular scratches on steel, you'll immediately see it because the steel will start showing and it will only get worse with time as the coating peels off from that initial scratch.

Not especially, though. Itβs not like a 5Hz movement is difficult to build. Companies donβt like to build them because they come with too many drawbacks, like reduced power reserve and reduced service intervals while not dramatically increasing accuracy.

No retard, it's an objective fact.
The coaxial movement makes the watches thicker than what they used to.
Picrel, left is a co-axial and right is before they used co-axial.
And all that, losing wearability, for a movement that is slightly more accurate, which is something other brands do without being that thick.
Now, what is YOUR argument for the co-axial movement, brainlet?

I'm pretty sure you don't know how much it makes the movement better. Like most people, you just bought the marketting.
The claim of the co-axial movement is to stay accurate longer, meaning that instead of having to service the watch every 10 years, you will have to service it every 15 years. Or instead of gaining 7 seconds a day after 10 years, it will gain 3 seconds after 10 years.
Is this gain worth having a fucking bulky watch instead of a sleak one? Not in my book.
Would you ever notice if your watch gain 7 seconds a day, do you even set it under 7 seconds compared to the time on your PC? No.
No one fucking cares for the gains of the co-axial movement, Rolexes don't have them and they do fucking fine.
tldr; fuck your bulky co-axial shit

Omegaβs design choices like transparent case backs, thick case bands, and domed crystals contribute more to the thickness than the coaxial.
A couple threads ago, an anon posted the actual dimensions of a bunch of movements and the Omega movements were actually thinner than their Rolex counterparts, meaning that just about any Omega could be as thin as its Rolex counterpart.
Omega CHOOSES to make their watches thick. They are not forced to by their movement dimensions.

>Omegaβs design choices like transparent case backs, thick case bands, and domed crystals contribute more to the thickness than the coaxial.
All do contribute to the thickness and all are terrible choices.
A Seamaster doesn't need a display caseback (it doesn't need to be 300m for most people either, but it's another subject).
Either way, modern Omegas are terrible watches in my book because of that thickness (bad wearability + top heavy).

Omegaβs things have been accuracy and technology.
Thinness is never something they advertised, itβs just something you made up now because you donβt like the brandβs current thick offerings.
Again, plenty of stuff to hate, plenty of ways to make your point without having to resort to telling lazy lies.

Fashion. In the late 2000s into the early 2010s, a big watch was in style. Big, thick cases, wide, un-tapered bracelets. It sounds ridiculous, but fashion doesnβt always make sense.
Even Rolex wasnβt immune, coming out with the 42mm Explorer 2, the DSSD, and the Supercase.

It does look like itβs from the 90s and, worse still, the ones from the 90s are cheap, plentiful, work great, and are better than the current ones in many regards.
Buy an automatic non-tritium SMP300 and youβll get a watch that has better lume than todayβs models and is thinner and more comfortable.
Youβll be giving up about 8 hours of power reserve and a ceramic bezel in the bargain.

Nice. Since your watch is a Promaster, there may be a thin metal tube inside the OEM rubber strap where the spring bar is, mine does. Plus the spring bar maybe 2mm thicc. You may try to use the use the 'string method' on how to remove spring bars, just do a quick YT research. If it fails, get something like this and use the angled part to remove it. Just be careful not to bruise or dent the steel case.

Hey guys, Teddy Bulbassare here!
Here are the top 10 SHITKO for broke faggots:
Number 1 the Shitko Alpnist: Nothing says "i can't pay rent" better than the Shitko Alpnist. With a solid Shitko 5 movement that is only +2mn a day, the Shitko Alpnist is not really here to tell the time, it is here to make a statement.
Be careful tho! If you stare at that "islamic green" dial and at those fake gold plated hands for too long, you might get glaucoma.

The design is from the 1930s. It was initially a male's watch but now it's marketed as unisex, just like the Tank or the Reverso. Churchill wore one, hence the name.

I've been adding to my collection since last year. None are 'luxury', but I've got a watch for every occasion. What do you think?
Left to right:
Tool Watch Co. Rally: Micro brand I found one day while browsing instagram. They have different versions of this one, but I really liked the black dial one. Meca-Quartz movement. 38mm. Very solid overall.
Hamilton Khaki Field Expedition: My first mechanical watch. Not much to say really. A pretty solid goated watch for every day use. Very good power reserve. The strap was a little short but luckly hamilton has XL straps on their website.
Tissot PRX Carbon: Nice slick black design. Really solid sports look. The power reserve and date are the chef's kiss.

Build it from aliexpress parts and don't pretend it's something it's not.
I used to build NH35 shitters on the side to make money during Covid, people went nuts after Santos clones. I sold the last one I had two months ago for Β£200 whereas the parts bin cost me Β£80-120 depending on what kind of sale aliex was doing. The bracelets were trash but the rest of the parts were good.
Nowadays my local facebook markerplace is overflowing with what morons are calling "seiko mods" so I don't do that any longer, tik tok made it mainstream and now every idiot makes these without even clearing out the dust from the case/face before assembly.

Problem with watch Youtubers is they're all nerds. They either talk about muh heritage (which - I'll admit - can be interesting sometimes) or muh specs. Most of them try to talk about both.
There isn't a single watch Youtuber with valuable insight about what matters the most: aesthetics, proportions and styling.
There's a reason for this: 99% of watchfags are dorks with exactly zero (0) sense of style who will sperg out when they're reminded watches are and always have been FASHION ACCESSORIES.

He modded watches for a living, has encyclopedic knowledge of seiko watches down to the model numbers, he can go on and on about water clocks and all kinds of historical and engineering timekeeping standard bullshit and collects oddities and novelties of timekeeping, and so on. And you have to know a lot about watches and engineering and manufacturing to even get something usable and cost effective out of the manufacturing companies the microbrands use even if you're making homage shitters. He's definitely made and wore and shilled a lot of dogs, but acting like he doesn't know what he's doing is just wrong.

There is a lot more than a million people who want a Rolex and can afford it. Itβs the most desired watch brand in the world.

I just recently got the call for an explorer and I had to decline it because I'm too busy to pick it up. That's the biggest reason this wait list call back bullshit is so stupid, you tell them you're read to buy a watch now, they tell you that you have to wait, and then between 3 and 30 months later they call at the worst possible time. They act like you're sitting there waiting for the phone to ring ready to drop everything the second they call over a watch.

Yeah, bro, traveling and preparing to get married will do that to you, bro. I'm out in the real world doing real shit, not staring at the phone from my rolex branded green velvet cuck chair.

I don't get why you're so butthurt about it. You were in the market for an Explorer a while ago, you're not anymore. Just buy it when you can. Or don't.
BTW there's no waitlist for it anymore.

I'm butthurt because it's the gayest possible way to do business. Because it's not "oh I'll call you when I'm ready," it's "I'll tell you I'm ready and then you can make me wait another 8 to 18 months."
