>>18507108I'm sure it's a nice watch but it looks a bit 'messy'.
I prefer the cleaner lines of my CW 12.
>>18507108>>18507116Cartier is a design house. Theyโre always looking for new ideas. The notion that everything they come up with timeless is just silly.
In the quest to create cool looking watches, theyโll make plenty of watches with a timeless design, but plenty more that are cool for their era and look horribly outdated afterwards. Thatโs the nature of fashion.
Fortunately, theyโve had enough hits that they feel free to experiment which increases the likelihood theyโll come up with something new and interesting.

daily reminder that the only only only rolexs worth getting are the 36mm explorer and the yachtmaster 2 every other rolex is cringe and gay and possibly homosexual as well.
>>18507273I don't get your point. Rolex has never been a "rockstar" brand, and it's not even trying to be one (just look at their ambassadors).
The OP, Explorer, and DJ are basically the same watch. The differences are entirely about storytelling
>OP is the trendy watch with flashy colors>Explorer is the professional, heritage-inspired watch>DJ is the status-oriented watchIn the real world, they serve the same purpose and are worn by the same type of people.

Any fellow perpetual calendar bros around?
I've been thinking about Mido Ocean Star or Commander Icรดne for my next watch.
I like the Ocean Star and I don't really have a sports watch at the moment, except my Alpinist. Commander Icรดne is kind of nice but seems huge as shit, and for dress watch I think I still rather have Cartier or other tank type of watch.
Any experiences with the brand? I know it's "swatchshit".

>>18507046 (OP)>If you post a Citizen or a Seiko in this thread, your mom will be raped by a pack of black gentlemen tonight. What's wrong with Citizen or Seiko?
How many watches do you guys have? My second one is coming today.
>>18507985It's a good brand but mostly sold in LatAm and Asia
>>18507985Mido is a weird brand because their best looking options with proper specs and nice complications are either integrated bracelet, so you're married to the bracelet forever, or they're 42mm or more.
If you want a bog standard 40mm diver with date I think Certina has better and cheaper options. They even have a good looking titanium diver now, although there aren't a lot of color options for it yet. It's either this black with yellow lume or blue with white lume.
>>18508058Also there's a 38mm version but the only color option has this gay blue lume.

The most beautiful blue colored dial out of any watch for any money is on this Oris.
Live with it.
Brands like Mido, Certina and Oris do absolutely nothing for me. The history behind them is non-existent, their designs are generic as fuck, their movements are meh at best... They don't even have a distinctive appeal that some microshitter brands can have sometimes.
>>18508105>diver with 100 m WR
>>18508154Same, if you're getting an entry-level swiss watch, better get a Hamilton, Zodiac or Alpina, they at least have some character
Why do you even need pushers? Watches are for day drinking
Looking for a more or less modern quartz watch with the case/dial looking similar to Dexter's Waltham watch. Not looking for the original, because they are usually scratched to hell and I just want something to casually slap on once in a while

Is Breitling and Omega the android of watches?
Every time I meet someone with either they go on a rant on how bad rolexes are
>>18508732Rolex, Cartier, Patek, AP : iOS
Breitling, Omega, IWC, Vacheron : Android
Grand Seiko : Ubuntu Touch
>>18508718Save 200 more and we can find you a really good Seiko. For a hundo you're better off elsewhere. I could maybe find you a good vintage Seiko, perhaps even a quartz, on eBay or some other internet shop or whatever, but then there's shipping, and import duties, and taxes... And maybe you'd have to service it a bit... So it's a tough one for a hundred dollars.

>>18508724>got busted by Perezcope for forging a fake "unique" Rolex that sold at auctions for $6 millionsBased
>>18508943Now you're comparing a mass-produced watch with a hand made one, produced in the few dozen each year. Huge difference in finishing and labor spent on one watch.
Rolex own their own factories, are practically vertically integrated and use proprietary tech. So no, Chinese replicas are not made in the same factories.

>Did W.O.E. pick it up at Khan el-Khalili Souk in Cairo to support a cover legend, or receive it as an honorary gift from a Middle Eastern intelligence service after an impactful operation? The truth is, it was purchased online. Amazonโs algorithm served it to me in early 2022, something that I even wrote an article about for Hodinkee. It is not a daring spy story, but it does say a lot about the state of technology and (commercial) surveillance.
