I like it very much, it's something I wanted Ombre Leather to be, rich, smoky. lowkey it smells like a charcoal grill with something delicious on it
That's all I got today, now I'm thinking of skipping the rest of fresh-iris scents as im getting fatigued of the freshies that are all bit different versions of the same. I'm intrigued by leathers and ouds now, maybe I should try delving into Arab houses?

"I like" is a useless metric you can own too many and like all of them. I own all of the below. Here's my frequency of use, which is actually the real ranking by preference.
Homme (used the most) > Ideal Platine Prive > Ideal EdP > Habit Rouge > Vetiver > L'Instant > Heritage.
None of them are bad. Guerlain does not release bad frags. There are too many good/bad assessments on here that don't translate to reality.

The only posts on here that matter are: what fragrance do you ACTUALLY USE and when. If you like it and wore it once three years ago, then you don't actually like it as much as you think.

Seeing how ubiquitous they are at the moment, I’ve been tasked with creating gourmand type scents a couple of times now, although I’d like to differentiate between those I have created, and those that are most commonly associated with the label. There are two type types of gourmand scents, those who are as sweet as possible (imagine most of Kilians releases) and those who despite smelling sweet retain some semblance of what they are supposed to represent. Beginning with angel, Ethyl maltol has served as the backbone for many Gourmand fragrances, although it is found in nearly every fragrance nowadays, 2% in Blonde Amber, 4% in angels share, 5% in Oud satin mood etc. I believe that presently, they are only overrepresented because they sell β€œtoo well”. Gourmands aren’t very challenging fragrances, thus they offend no one, and in turn are always an easy reach. when I am tasked to create a gourmand scent I always attempt to remove sweetness by using chemicals that impart nutty, coffee or dark chocolate aromas. I am not allowed to disclose anything, but I would invite you guys to look up what new aromachemicals were presented at SIMPARR 2025.

Br540 edp, it is sweet, but defintly not heavy, lots of ambroxan and saffron
ganymede is a good recommendation, on my skin it's very much pure saffron and metallic accords
Safran secret by Maison Crivelli - another spin on br540 dna this time less sweet and more metallic
crystal saffron - yet another spin on b540, slightly metallic, slightly less sweet with a bit of incense in the drydown
Safran Colognise Nishane - citruses, saffron and neroli, idk if I would call it saffron oriented, it's more like a saffron spin on classic cologne
Zafferano Acqua di Parma - very much a classic italian cologne scent profile with a bit of saffron, performance is garbage and is overpriced to shit

Either Bois d'Encens or Casbah.
Casbah is better quality, a better quality to price ratio, more nuanced and more dynamic from start to finish, but Bois d'Encens has a sort of airy, soft woody quality that I've found nowhere else.

I've been told by a saleswoman at a duty free that it's a duty free exclusive.
It's no better than Dior Homme Sport even if there's a bit more incense in it, I found the contrast between that amount of blue/showergel/ambroxan and all and that amount of incense staggering in a bad way, as if I'd layered two fragrances that shouldn't have been layered.

So fucking good, rocketed to the top of my favourite list instantly. Very very excited to wear it out and about. Love the old-style bottle too. Inspired me to start planning out some more early Guerlain pickups, and possibly some vintage parfum dabbers. If I can get a good vintage of this and Mitsouko I will be thrilled
>Dior Homme Intense
I wanted this to be something it's not, unfortunately. I was hoping it would be DH2011 with some more oomph but it's secretly a bottle of gourmand vanilla bordering on slop which is only saved by the iris being pretty nice. I'll give this a fair shot over the next couple months as it cools off but I'll probably end up selling it for Prada L'homme Intense or just coughing up for a bottle of 2011.

But I digress. Today I got a message from a Chanel sales person. She offered me the new BDC l'exclusif on the online store. It can be bought and they'll ship a decant so I can try it first. Most reviews say that it's like the parfum and I love the parfum. But if it's overlapping with it I might as well just send it back.

I was also able to add two other samples and went for woman's frags, I'm giving them away to any of my sisters or someone at work. I'll report my findings after it arrives.

Hello friends, I was looking for a floral unisex fragrance for the summer and came across this one. I liked it since it's not as citric as neroli portofino and while it doesn't have the best longevity it managed to last quite a while on my skin.

I was wondering if there's any similar smelling summer fragrances that focus on those slightly sweet floral azahar scents rather than the the citric ones.

1. something sweet, synthetic and loud, red tobacco is perfect for that
2. really strong incense, cannot help you with that one as incense in any form becomes really overpowering on my skin, but if I had to say, anything with dragon blood reisn in it should keep people away, nocturne alchemy has a whole collection based on it
3. smoke, trex from zoologist
4. sickly sweet flowers, very good girl or delina
5. animalics, hyrax from zoologist to smell like actual feces, ambilux to smell like an unwashed old person

Alternatively, something straight up disgusting like eau de space, have never seen a positive reaction to that one

This is the perfect cologne, and mostly natural too being comprised of citruses and other EOs such as lavender, rosemary, and clary sage. As is the case with most fragrances using an all natural palette, they don’t smell extremely complex, but nonetheless possess the depth typical of such compositions.

I find it a little disappointing that the post quality seems to have gone down a bit. I understand the role that fragrances play in the mind of the average consumer, being seen as somewhat of an aphrodisiac, but really?

Italian-style fougere with a strong lime-leather accord present throughout. I personally get an ashy tobacco smell from it but I don't see any of the ingredients indicating that was their intention. Medium projection, longevity average. If you start sweating in the summer heat it can get a little cloying from the lime

I like Boucheron more just because it's more versatile for whatever I'm doing. There's not a single setting that I find it unsuitable for, but Cerruti feels out of place in professional spaces. Cerruti's drydown can also feel a bit sour due to the heavy pine.

I don't really find the two to be all that similar, imo. I guess they share some notes.

After trying a couple different ones it depends on what else is in it. Is a lavender/carnation/oakmoss fougere outdated? Maybe. Is a lavender/mandarine/ginger/oakmoss fougere outdated? Maybe not, in my opinion. They are all so different and have so much potential.

Lavender, even natural lavender just smells clean because it has been so overused in cleaning products over the years. I am not familiar with Libre but it's a woman's scent, so I don't know what's masculine about it. Geranium doesn't smell too dated for me because while it's less common it's not like carnation that went from being everywhere to being nowhere.

YSL owes much of its fame to the adaptation of a traditional men's outfit to women, and even nowadays it sells women's jackets with square, wide padded shoulders and men's high heeled boots, so it doesn't sound at all odd that they would sell a masculine frag as feminine.
Libre is also not that masculine.

This is a citrus HEAVY and floral aftershave, so the most classic fragrance that's quite similar and is actually just a great fragrance is Habit Rouge EdT, but it's for 28+ year olds, so I wouldn't recommend it to a younger guy.

I would say Dior Cologne because it's a Citrus forward + woody cologne so it still works in the EdC style OR if you want the more classic Citrus + Floral mix I would recommend Wake Up World by Parle Moi de Parfum. Both are for younger guys and they're both excellent.

Not sure what is unavailable in Europe because you can likely get everything. Rag and Bone has a fragrance line in the US that's solid. Xinu is Mexican so you likely won't see it at all in the EU.

Commodity has a full line here. DS & Durga is from Brooklyn. Tom Ford is available everywhere. Le Labo is New York but available everywhere. Imaginary Authors is solid and has an interesting line if you can find it. Gallivant might available in the EU but is from LA.

Fougere for most classic. Chypre for some green edge. The most safe note is Lavender.
Lavender + Vanilla + Musk is a fougere.
If you want a nice easy approachable work safe but fun smell that has a thin line of tobacco try The One by Dolce and Gabanna. The Eau de Toilette specifically. The Eau de Parfum is heavier and less work safe.
