Because its a harsh contrast from the 2 guard length on his sides against the long combover on the top. there is no fade or if there is, it is too high to be seen, it looks choppy and not flowy, and is a dated look from circa 2014 which is probably when the guy was in his 20s hence he thinks it looks good.
