i'm gonna get rid of my collection and keep three frags, one for everyday/all occasions, one hot weather fresh scent and one cold weather warm scent
My favorite notes are cardamom and ginger, I also like (in no particular order)
>tonka, grapefruit, cedarwood, basil, neroli, lavender, geranium, pink pepper, sandalwood, tobacco
I dislike
>iris, powdery accords, leather, civet and castoreum, overwhelming earthy vetiver, stuff with too much amber and vanilla (like grand soir)

XX ± Latex UERMI - Opens with insanely strong acetone note, nose hair burning, transforms into a vague smell of a stationery shop with some salty aldehydes on top and a bit of acetone in the background. Feels like something you shouldn't be smelling, reminiscent of raw dogging stuff in chem labs instead of gently wafting them towards your nose.
Actually, pleasant and strangely addicting, can imagine it being headache inducing under wrong conditions.

What resources are out there to help spot fakes when hunting for AdG Profumo? I bought a vintage bottle of Monsieur de Givenchy from an online seller, which came in and is definitely a true vintage bottle. Same seller now has a couple sealed bottles of Profumo for sale. Want to take the leap, but I know that this one in particular is notorious for fakes and would like to be extra careful, even if I had a good experience with this seller already.

Update to the blind buy that turned out to be Dior Sauvage clone :
First 5 minutes it does smell similar to Sauvage, about 80%. Quickly turns into Terre D'Hermes-like peppery with a hint of tobacco scent in an hour. The drydown is much more floriental rather than straight up woody, with nuances of amber and oud.
It's okayish, not bad as I expected. I don't like the Sauvage DNA but I love the oriental twist. It's surprisingly long lasting for only $27, as expected of arabslop. I'll let it macerate.

Picked up a bottle of Sartorial at a good price since its being discontinued. Really nice stuff, definitely hits the vision of a more tailoring oriented barbershop fragrance. The beeswax and slightly metallic aldehydes gives it a definitive clean pressed clothes feel on top of the soapy lavender and typical barbershop DNA. Shame its going away, glad I grabbed some. Its use is niche enough that my 100ml should last forever.

I’m not sure if its the most popular. I never see it come up for sale second hand, but I see stuff like Halfeti and Tragedy of Lord George and others from that series come up all the time.
I can't believe this isn't marketed as a women's fragrance. It's so sickeningly sweet and nearly identical to Britney Spears Fantasy. Maybe it's just my skin. I get absolutely no tobacco. It's just gobs of headache-inducing vanilla and synthetic sweet smell.

Just watch a couple youtube videos, the signs to spot a fake are mainly the glossiness of the caps, the lack of opacity of the bottles, the lack of texture of the bottom font, but mainly the thickness of the Q, in "Aqua". When it comes to the box the main difference is the indentation of the measurement numbers, and the glossiness of the box. Overall it's hard to spot without detailed images and you have to rely on seller trust and good refund policy. I haven't found one I'm willing to take the plunge on.

for summer I also like GIT
I have an old bottle bought from some company that claims it's the exact same juice (it's not)

Blue Mai Tai - beautiful in the air, tons of lime and ginger, decently sweet, slightly green in the dry down. Smells quite girly on my skin, meanwhile on my gf's skin the rum and patchouli become more pronounced making it feel more manly. Nuclear performance.

Decided against both, tried Guerlain vetiver parfum and I bought that instead.
Sotd Kouros. Works great with the sweat and exercise, that's the magic of kouros. I wouldn't wear it for work or dates or anything else. I'm about to finish my 100 ML bottle and might consider buying it again.
I have a date to a jazz club with a very interesting, pretty and young lady, chatgpt is recommending me to use ADP leather, and going with black shirt and black Chelsea boots. I think it'll work.

Every jazz club is different but I would wear either a t-shirt, jeans, and jacket if I'm trying to be casual or shirt, slacks, and jacket if I want something dressier. I wouldn't wear leather notes but not the worst, I would wear tobacco, incense, or cognac notes. A modern vetiver scent if the date is young.

Lmao I did not expect this kind of response, I find it very useful to coordinate between occasions and also with shoes, but I'm leaning to a couple of sprays of Dior homme parfum the old one.
But it's a warm night, so I could just use the sample of l'exclusif. I think that'll do better. It's not bad at all, it's just very similar to the parfum just sweeter.
>>18517309
Nah, I'd rather not fuck with eBay. Also if it's discontinued I'm not going to use it as often and I don't want that.
I'll douse myself with ADP leather after I'm done with work, do some exercise and hit the shower and see if works.
Btw this lady I'm going out with smells great, she used YSL libre when I met her and on the first time we went out. I don't want to mog her with my own fragrances so I'll keep it light.

I absolutely blasted through a bottle of kouros last summer. It's so weak. I don't know what you're on about not wearing it certain places. It's a freshie. A musky freshie, but still. The man silver is OG kouros in all the glory. You have no idea how good it can be.

pretty much exactly the notes from fragrantica
it's very warm
the eucalyptus and resin are present all throughout
the incense goes away in the middle (like ~2hours after spraying) in favour of the cedar and herbal clary sage
both of which slowly go away and you're left with almost all resin and a touch of eucalyptus in the base
I have no idea where else besides autumn I could wear it
I started enjoying it only after the fourth of fifth wear when the composition finally made sense to me

A bit more of a citrusy take on the OG, good for warmer weather but takes on a bit of a picklejuice note in part due to sandalwood being increased
>Ombre Noire
Thick, boozy cognac, amber, and vanilla. Mostly a boozy frag but layers well with lavender and vanilla if youre into that

Sycomore is green but airy and flowery vetiver.
It's quite similar to EN, though not nearly as inky, softer, a bit of white and yellow flowers.
Vetiver is sharp green, dry, earthy, with citrus oil at the top, there's tobacco, a hint of leather, and the vetiver is not as prominent, with none of those hints of soft flowers.
The last time I smelled Vetiver was maybe 6 years ago though, so my memory might not be reliable.
>>18518014
I was hoping you could argue your point.
Should I have called you retard/noselet/pajeet and left it at that instead?
Do you not think that Sycomore smells like vetiver? (what does vetiver smell like then?)
Do you think Sycomore is not a good representation of vetiver? (what does it have that's unrealistic/questionable?)
>a subjective hobby
Liking a frag better than another is subjective, but whether two things smell the same, or close enough that "the same" is a good approximation, is not subjective, and a professional would reasonably be better at telling what fragrance smells like what ingredient.

Super weird but I love knowing this exists. My family vacationed at the Outer Banks many times and my dad loved lighthouses. Hatteras, Currituck, Body Island, Ocracoke, went to see a ton of them. Plus the Wright Brothers monument and all kinds of other local things. Jockey’s Ridge… fun memories.

if you are talking about the edp, absolutely not.
Please recommend me some good floral fragrances. They can be more feminine, I don't really mind. I love Violet Blonde and may pick up a dupe of it since I only have about 30ml, but I find myself enjoying florals more and more lately. The main ones I'm using right now are Dior Homme 2011 and Intense, but I'd like to get some Rose and other lighter, more delicate florals. I have a good deal available on MYSLF too but I'm gonna do a skin test at sephora this weekend before I commit. That's also if I don't drop bags on some yeezy stuff lmao

Burning Barbershop is interesting but the lime note fades from the entire bottle after like a third of the bottle is used. The lavender also isn’t particularly forward imo, it’s mostly the interesting burnt oil/smoke scent.
I wanna smell like straight smoke
No vanilla or sweet scent

Got my delivery today. The reviews are shit. This frag is wonderful. The woody iris up top with the cognac/rum accord is fucking excellent.

While the price is high it makes up for performance, two sprays and you are set for 14 + hours.

I usually go for the 50ml/smallest size because unless I’m positive its going to be a daily driver 50ml is going to be more than enough. Now you have 58€ that you didn’t spend that you can put toward another fragrance.

I have a 3.5ml sample of it and I like it. That's why I'm considering a FB. Usually I buy the smallest full bottle because I like to rotate fragrances. 30ml is ideal.

well you've got the answer, you prefer smaller bottles and you're not crazy about the frag so get the smaller bottle

Myself is a good fragrance. I like what they did with the orange blossom. They seem to have found the sweet spot; too much and you get that gross artificial grape smell that’s in Joop! and too light and it just disappears. I could be wrong but i think they used habanolide or some other metallic musk to round it out.

Yes, but there's some magic going on. You get Rum + Iris + Wood up at the very top. Then as that layer dissipates you start getting the classic floral & citrus combo. I have no idea how they stuck citrus UNDER wood. I'm guessing they completely recreated the accords using other ingredients because otherwise the density differences would force it up. I'm guessing it's florals, sharp woods, and lemongrass.
