XX ± Latex UERMI - Opens with insanely strong acetone note, nose hair burning, transforms into a vague smell of a stationery shop with some salty aldehydes on top and a bit of acetone in the background. Feels like something you shouldn't be smelling, reminiscent of raw dogging stuff in chem labs instead of gently wafting them towards your nose.
Actually, pleasant and strangely addicting, can imagine it being headache inducing under wrong conditions.

Update to the blind buy that turned out to be Dior Sauvage clone :

First 5 minutes it does smell similar to Sauvage, about 80%. Quickly turns into Terre D'Hermes-like peppery with a hint of tobacco scent in an hour. The drydown is much more floriental rather than straight up woody, with nuances of amber and oud.

It's okayish, not bad as I expected. I don't like the Sauvage DNA but I love the oriental twist. It's surprisingly long lasting for only $27, as expected of arabslop. I'll let it macerate.

Picked up a bottle of Sartorial at a good price since its being discontinued. Really nice stuff, definitely hits the vision of a more tailoring oriented barbershop fragrance. The beeswax and slightly metallic aldehydes gives it a definitive clean pressed clothes feel on top of the soapy lavender and typical barbershop DNA. Shame its going away, glad I grabbed some. Its use is niche enough that my 100ml should last forever.

Just watch a couple youtube videos, the signs to spot a fake are mainly the glossiness of the caps, the lack of opacity of the bottles, the lack of texture of the bottom font, but mainly the thickness of the Q, in "Aqua". When it comes to the box the main difference is the indentation of the measurement numbers, and the glossiness of the box. Overall it's hard to spot without detailed images and you have to rely on seller trust and good refund policy. I haven't found one I'm willing to take the plunge on.

it's very warm
the eucalyptus and resin are present all throughout
the incense goes away in the middle (like ~2hours after spraying) in favour of the cedar and herbal clary sage
both of which slowly go away and you're left with almost all resin and a touch of eucalyptus in the base

Unisex fragrances all lean feminine, "masculine" fragrances sometimes lean feminine, but feminine fragrances never lean masculine. Curious, isn't it, almost like it's clearly intentional.

Go to the local sephora or some such store, try a bit of everything, note what you like and what you don't like, and then look everything up on fragrantica to see what notes and accords work for you.
If you have no idea what you might like there's no point in buying a sample set, the samples you'd be buying would be a toss in the dark.

i thought maybe i got a bad batch or something so i tried my sample from the discovery set again and its smelling the same to me now as well.

Sycomore is green but airy and flowery vetiver.
It's quite similar to EN, though not nearly as inky, softer, a bit of white and yellow flowers.
Vetiver is sharp green, dry, earthy, with citrus oil at the top, there's tobacco, a hint of leather, and the vetiver is not as prominent, with none of those hints of soft flowers.
The last time I smelled Vetiver was maybe 6 years ago though, so my memory might not be reliable.
>>18518014
I was hoping you could argue your point.
Should I have called you retard/noselet/pajeet and left it at that instead?
Do you not think that Sycomore smells like vetiver? (what does vetiver smell like then?)
Do you think Sycomore is not a good representation of vetiver? (what does it have that's unrealistic/questionable?)
>a subjective hobby
Liking a frag better than another is subjective, but whether two things smell the same, or close enough that "the same" is a good approximation, is not subjective, and a professional would reasonably be better at telling what fragrance smells like what ingredient.

Please recommend me some good floral fragrances. They can be more feminine, I don't really mind. I love Violet Blonde and may pick up a dupe of it since I only have about 30ml, but I find myself enjoying florals more and more lately. The main ones I'm using right now are Dior Homme 2011 and Intense, but I'd like to get some Rose and other lighter, more delicate florals. I have a good deal available on MYSLF too but I'm gonna do a skin test at sephora this weekend before I commit. That's also if I don't drop bags on some yeezy stuff lmao

Myself is a good fragrance. I like what they did with the orange blossom. They seem to have found the sweet spot; too much and you get that gross artificial grape smell that’s in Joop! and too light and it just disappears. I could be wrong but i think they used habanolide or some other metallic musk to round it out.

Anonymous No.18518692
>>18518681
Yes, but there's some magic going on. You get Rum + Iris + Wood up at the very top. Then as that layer dissipates you start getting the classic floral & citrus combo. I have no idea how they stuck citrus UNDER wood. I'm guessing they completely recreated the accords using other ingredients because otherwise the density differences would force it up. I'm guessing it's florals, sharp woods, and lemongrass.
