I'm a beginner figure skater and like to wear some zesty outfits on the ice. I'm looking at this "french foreign legion safari shirt" (short sleeve variant) that I would pair with navy, black or white Dickies pants. I think I can pull it off

Uniform coats/jackets are an easy statement piece and (depending on the pattern/era) can cost next to nothing.

Look at different nations' field and dress uniforms. Spend an hour or two scrolling. Save pics and mix them in with pics of your current fits, get some inspo collages going in GIMP or Paint.

I think the short-sleeve safari shirt would be cool to try, since my milsurp fit works imo. I have the figure skater build so a lot of fits work on the ice

just pick a single piece of milsurp and throw it on with normal clothes, 1 piece per fit. Camo is harder to pull off, modern patterns especially are a big no no. Certain pieces are braindead to style like the M65 or combat boots.

1. Stick to just 1 piece not a full uniform
2. Prefer military pieces made for “extreme” utility (flight jackets, bomber jackets, cold weather and mountaineering coats, field pants for hauling a lot of gear, etc.) stuff that was made specifically to do something difficult and stand up to it
