That said I no longer cared about the brand desu. Converse's quality (not just QC but everything across the board) took a nosedive that I more often than not just buy off brand Chucks for less than 20 bucks

The one and only thing they're good for is for smelling them after girl's feet have been in them the entire day. Other than that they're trash.

I have a pair as a chore shoe. I like the white sole with black laces for a more subdued look and they look better used, abused, and put away wet.

Hmm, maybe. What do you normally wear them for and for how long? If I go out I'm normally walking on and off for anywhere between 3-8 hours. Converse/Vans start to kill my soles and heels after 2 hours, there's no support, it just feels like there's a thin sheet of fabric between my feet and the floor. It's annoying because I really like the shoes, I'm just never able to wear them.

i am thinking about getting my first pair ever actually, but i feel like i'm shooting myself in the foot (almost literally) due to these being shorter, everybody wears borderline platform boot sneakers that add 2-3 inches now.
i am a gigamanlet and the 1.5inch+ shoes add for me are a world of difference, from getting mogged by 12 year olds to not so, and atleast being taller or as tall than more women atleast.

these shoes are really low aren't they? i really like the look of them of them but getting into shoes now i realised the height is a big factor for me.

anybody have recommendations?

Only used in my home gym. The canvas is starting to look pretty worn, but the sole is still in really good condition (only ever worn indoors). I had to replace the laces after a year because the ones they come with are shit quality.
