This. Doesn't even have to be linen, but linen is one of the best options. Cotton can work, finer wale corduroy, tweed, and herringbone could work in cooler weather, though I wouldn't recommend that if you're going for a full suit (go with slacks that pair well), and definitely wear a short sleeve shirt.

The reason nobody ever gives a straightforward answer to this question is because there is no answer. You could wear grey sweatpants and Nike Dri Fit tees but if you give the vibe that you’re alt because you’re tatted, lean, and have some piercings or punk hair or whatever then you fit the bill. But they still probably won’t associate with you because these girls are fucking mental and all militant man haters now.
