I spent 120€ for those black cargos from a well-known brand and half a year later this piece of shit lost its black color to a washed, almost bronze reddish-black.
You thought fast fashion was low quality but at this point everything just seems cheap and shitty to me, even a 120€ pants.
For fucks sake.
How come moderately expensive brands nowadays are the same shit quality as 20€ Zara pants.

What brand?
How did you wash them?

G-Star (Rovic Zip 3D Tapered Cargo Pants)
I wash all my clothes "normal", so 40 degrees Celsius for 60-90 minutes.

The care label says 30 degrees

Yeah quality in clothes is a meme mostly. You'll get better stitching which might mean more or less longevity. Cotton will fade anyway, you should either wash this on high temp to look more uniform IMO - but this reddish appearance happens to me when I expose black to bleach, not as part of fading.

Disagree, the differences can be baffling but but you need to be informed to even find the good stuff. In the past even upmarket brands at the mall had the decency to source better materials but that is not at all guaranteed anymore. A particular trick they use is to chemically wash cheap fabric to make it softer at the cost of durability. There is a feeling to high quality unwashed cotton that you can instantly tell.

I'd just distress them more and lean into the look

Shouldn't it be more even then? It's only on the two big cargo pockets, I assume for the sole reason of... using them.
>>18528278
If it was equally worn I could overlook it, but it's only on the two big cargo pockets and even there it's not even, so it just looks bad.

Solution: Dye them, check what material and dye you need
Long term solution:
>120eruo cargo pants

I've got the same trousers but in different colours , one thing to always keep in mind with cotton is it won't hold dark colours, especially black or dark blue your garments will show that purpleish hue at some point , what you cand do to mitigate is to always wash low temps, never dry them under direct sunlight and once in a while use your country s version of pic related

There was a labor day sale with canoe club, also got a pair of 105 jeans for $200 which seemed reasonable. I still feel a bit stupid for spending so much on jeans and cargo pants but they haven’t arrived yet, I guess I’ll see if it was worth the money or if I got memed.

Mine's a dye anon, it's a plastic ball with the pigment powder to put on top of the robes in the washing machine, yours I believe is a detergent gentle on coloured garments.

Yeah, it's the sun. Same thing happened to a pair of cargo shorts I only wear 2-3 months per year.

Fatigues are not cargo pants and the Orslow ones are well worth it. I wear mine more than jeans.
