Why is EVERY SINGLE mainstream online store shilling these dumb shits now? What’s the goal this time??

can't decide which is uglier, these or those tyrolean shoes that got trendy

it's like "gatekeeper" core - zoomie trend hopping, constantly hunting for the most obscure thing, has now been pipelined by the marketers themselves. >>18562190
>>18562151
both of these are things people just typically dont already have lying around. that's the idea.

im actually predicting a resurgence of thinner trousers, and even the highwater look.

(a) it compliments the bright sock-and-loafer everyone is chasing constantly
(b) the baggy pants thing has been super played out by homeless-looking zoomers. you already saw signs of a slimmer silhouette this summer, and even the token baggy looks in paris are slimmer than the JNCO enjoyers would have hoped
(c) women's "lollipop" silhouette has been resurging - basically a giant jacket and then just tights. men's version would be like the parka or workwear jacket with basically highwaters. then you can accessorize with the socks and shoes however you like.

oh and (d) it's a perfect ass-fuck to late trend-chasing normgroids who just got their baggy pants sorted at the end of this summer

I was already saying baggy pants were about to fall out of fashion in the summer of 2024, and anontards on here got super mad and called me a moron. Kek.

it had more meat on the bone than any one expected. the extremism born by social media (picrel...) opens up the normgroid to a whole range of tailoring that was just not available in the obama era. ultimately a good thing. and today, it opens us a space in which highwaters can look cool and countercultural again. the anons in the skin/mod thread are onto something.

Everything coexists in a mutt delirium of styles and forms. Nothing to be surprised of. This is the consequence of mature (ai) internet age.

you shouldn't post here if you confront fashion as a chaotic domain. the level distinctions have in fact never been clearer... you need a robust, dialectical sensibility to productively use social media without ending up a fashion victim.

Tl,dr: Hiking shoes are a shit test that you failed.

Because they're a perfect fuck you to both poors and people with no style and you're clearly one (at least) of those two choices.

1: The real versions like Paraboot, Dimme, Morjas, Fracap are well made but aren't cheap. They're really comfortable and wear in well.

2: Poor people and people with no style want to try the look out so they pick up the cheapest version possible from ASOS. The shoes look off compared to the originals because the proportions and details are never quite right.

They get the cheap shoes home and realize they have zero idea how to style them properly so their fits look like shit and then they bitch online.

It's fucking great and should be a lesson in consumerism to everyone but it will be rejected or misunderstood.

Not every trend is for (you). (You) can't pull off the same shit a random IG model can, you'll look stupid trying. And to be fair, they might not look good in the same things you look good in.
Second lesson is sometimes you have to save your money and pay for quality. Sure, there are tons of brands where you're just paying for it the name and it's not worth the retail price. But you should be figuring out what those brands are and avoiding them like the plague. Sometimes the "just as good" option isn't,and even if it magically is, it's still a waste of money if you don't know how to work it into your wardrobe.

They are lace to toe, which are objectively dogshit aesthetically.
Anonymous No.18564812

>objectively dogshit aesthetically.

Thanks for proving my point.

There isn't a single article of clothing that is "objectively" dog shit because there is not objective lense to view fashion through and trying to pretend one exists is both autistic and retarded.

Fashion isn't binary, and you're holding yourself back if you cling to the idea that it is.It's the same loser mentality that keeps people looking like shit because they chase trends.

Look at the anon talking about what's potentially cycling in next. For the record, I think he's probably right about a couple points but let's say skinny fit comes back in.

If skinny fit comes back tomorrow, does that mean that if you looked good in loose fit pants yesterday you'll look bad in them tomorrow? Fuck no, you'll still look good in loose fit pants.
Flip side is, does that mean you'll look good in skinny pants if you immediately abandon anything loose? Maybe, maybe not. If you don't have the right body type for skinny pants, you'll look worse by jumping on the trend than if you stuck with what looks good on you.

There is a difference between looking good/having good style and chasing every trend. The faster you learn the difference, the better you'll look and the happier you'll be.

it'll take longer than you think, pant hem is like architectonic plates: big moves every couple hundred thousand years. runways are still extremely oversized, we havent really gotten to talkingheads zootsuit levels yet. i was just noting that there is a normgroid "reaction" brewing.

i want a good pair of low cut hiking boots. the problem is they're all fashion bullshit and not serious boots and i actually plan to hike in them on actual non meme mountains that have a tree line. i know you can get really good stuff in europe but its all unobtanium in the states.
yes i have modern glued plastic hiking boots and love them for what they are but there's a certain value to having an outfit that doesn't look out of place in town but can take you to the summit.

I have a pair of Danners like those that I've worn a few times in urban settings. They're shit for walking on hard surfaces and look like a hipster cosplay item. Chukka boots are better in every respect unless you're scrabbling or carrying a heavy pack.
