I'm gonna need some recommendations for hiking boots. I've been going strong with Meindl Perfekt. They are built like fucking tanks and the weight reflects that, standing at a whopping 1,220g per boot. Is it possible to find reliable, full leather construction (no goretex shit) hiking boots between 400 and 800g? Budget is not an issue.

I'm looking at the Thursday subreddit right now. You literally have to scroll several pages past several other faggots posting whatever to find 1 (one) thread from days ago that complains about quality of the stitching and it wasn't even structural let alone visible. You could just as easily go to any other boot subreddit and find some faggot that is complaining about the creasing on the leather.

There's no situation where 3 is ideal for me, but the balmoral and chelsea cover me for work while some kind of brown service boot works for casual wear.
You guys misled me. A couple of months ago I commissioned a custom made pair of leather boots from this shoe cobbler in Milan I paid 2.5k euros which is like 5k Canadian dollars, I even had to travel 1h to this fucking clinic that scanned my foot to send it to him. Well three weeks ago they finally arrived from Italy. Iβve been too afraid to wear them so thus far theyβve only been collecting dust. Come today and itβs nice and sunny, but I see they have a fine layer of ash like dust on them. Me being an Autist thinking Iβll get some good advice here, browse the archive, stumbling upon shoeshineanon shilling fucking 1930s silent movie shoeshine methods talking about spitting on the boot and rubbing it clean with a cloth. Me not knowing better I do exactly that. Now my boot is completely ruined and has a giant ass spot on the front, even worse itβs suede and it looks all fucking discolored

Poorfag here. Got an almost brand new pair of Allen Edmonds loafers for 30 bucks a couple weeks ago and I'm loving them. I am in the same boat looking for a shoe. Ive narrowed it down to the Meindl Borneo and Meindl Schlern. I think they weigh about the same. My understanding is, the Borneo has an EVA midsole while the Schlern has a PU one, which probably makes it a better choice long term. But ultimately you can resole both easily. Will probably choose after I find one to try in store somewhere.

Winter boot recommendations that are also wearable at other times of the year (ie, not super insulated and ugly)? Obviously a dedicated pair of winter boots would be needed if you live somewhere like Minnesota, but I just want something to withstand a couple inches of snow and not slip all over ice

Astorflex sits in the same price range as Red Wing, but itβs easier to get them on sale. Super comfortable shoes, they break in with just a few wears, they donβt use any chemical material, no celastic toe cap and heel stiffeners, even the sole rubber and the glue they use are natural. Italian leather, so good quality, usually unlined, and they also offer a lot of suede and roughout options. Theyβre light and donβt come with GYW, theyβre essentially a Blake Welt construction, but the midsole is quite thick and theyβre equipped with heel nails and steel shanks, so nice arch support as well. Look for their boot models with the word βrubberβ attached, otherwise youβll get a shitty crepe sole.

Looking for some desert boots in suede in the UK - want a casual, relatively round last, not too pointy or chiselled as will be worn with jeans/chinos. Currently looking a Jadd (Stitchdown - I'm not knowledgable enough to know what this means vs GYW, but know they can be resoled), and Crown Northampton - both are cheaper and less dressy than the usual suspects eg C&G.
