I just wish they'd leave their retarded company name off the dial and go for an understated logo instead. Or hire someone competent to come up with a name.

It's alright zoomfriend. It just takes some practice. You are probably 15 years old and have only ever looked at the time on your phone, so you have always been used to saying something like "it's 7:18" because that's the exact time you are seeing on the screen. With an analogue you wouldn't worry about pinpoint accuracy and instead you just say "it's 7 past 15" or "past 7 and a quarter"
The more you look at your watch, the easier it gets to read it. Some watches like the timex weekender are really easy to read because every hour indice is labeled with numbers that are big and thick, like my cock. Just keep in mind that if you need accurate and exact timekeeping for work or what have you, you are better off with a digital watch.

Anonymous No.18573170 [Report] >>18573194 >>18573454

True.
All the world's gold was formed in supernovas. Most of the gold the planet has is centered on the core as it's very heavy compared to most naturally occurring elements.
I just don't understand why they don't mine the core directly. They could easily extract cubic kilometers of high purity gold that way along with other rare earth metals.
>oh no, it would crash the market price
So what? It's better for everyone
>mining the core would destroy the environment
Again bullshit, the mined metals would just be replaced by others by gravity and humanity's needs would never deplete it.
They just don't want to do that, to keep up the status quo.

It’s funny, I actually really like the loud ticking on the timex movements.
I think I have that thing where subtle repetitive noise helps me relax and focus, like a rain sounds generator or something
Now that I think about it, I should check the timex lineup again, I was going to go with a Chinese automatic because I just think autos are cool and I’d like a vague retro GMT “homage”, but I do miss my loud ass weekender
Extra funny because all my friends found the noise significantly more noticeable than I did, so I’d always have people asking why my watch was so loud

I need advice.
I was gonna buy this Casio (I already have a luxury watch, this would be just something I wear for the gym or concerts). GW-5000U. I like the stealthy look but also higher quality build. It can't be metal because I'm gonna wear it during activities where I could hurt somebody.

Then recently, people started shilling the upcoming MIP variant. I looked it up and it seems it won't have Tough Solar, so basically you'll have to "charge it" every week. Which sounds SUPER gay to me. Like the whole point of G-Shock is that it just exists and functions, on its own.
Also, the design seems kinda soulless, although you can switch the font.

And then I also noticed they recently released a negative display variant (GW-5000HS). Which I'm skeptical of, but it does look cool, kinda ninja, all black. But then, visibility might be an issue.
Thoughts?

It doesn’t, but to be honest in practice I find I don’t need it. It’s legible enough in low light scenarios for me with those simple hands over a dark dial.

Also, the sapphire crystal is cut and seated in such a way that give it a beautiful glint when it catches the light. It almost had a blueish hue to it. On my wrist, to my eye, the crystal looks nicer than many watches far more expensive than it. Something about the way it slightly protrudes and with the smaller dial, it’s just a really great crystal

This watch is so beautifully moronic. The brand name straight out of the bowl of alphabet soup, the nonsensical demand to check my altitude, it's all there.
Sometimes i wonder, out of the billion roaches living in the same building and working in the same sweat shop surely there has to be one person that could know english at least on a level of an indian second grader that can tell others "hey, we sell these watches to those capitalist pigs but these letters we put on a dial make no fucking sense, can we at least try to make it look like words?" You don't get it. Those brands do not make their money selling watches to western gweilo.
Those watches are just advertising the level of quality they can do.
They make their real money from other brands using their manufacturing.
If their own branded watches would actually become popular, they'd compete with those other brands that actually make them money.
So the shitty brand names are on purpose, so that westerners will rather buy the more expensive watch with bigger margin from a "western" brand, which was also made in the same Chinese factory.

The problem is that the hands I've ordered with them don't fit, and I can't find the ones that will fit. Most things I find on Ali are for NH35, hour hand diameter of 1.5mm, while the chink hour spindle is 1.35, which is apparently the common size for chinese movements- yet everything I find on Ali is for NH35 and other 1.5-wide movements. Minute hand fits perfectly, 0.9 diameter. What do? What to search for? The listings on Ali seem to be allergic to giving any info in plain text, some show diagrams in images but they aren't helpful for search. >1. Start winding the watch a few seconds early. You'll figure out how long it takes to start after doing it twice.
>2. Back-hacking: On a lot of movements you can stop the second hand with a little back-pressure on the crown. Some people advise against it, saying it could reduce the lifespan of the movement. Lots of people say they've done it all the time for years with no issues.
>3. Stop being autistic. Set the watch to the nearest minute. The purpose of the second hand on a non-hacking movement is to show that it's a mechanical watch and that it's running.

I think it's neat.
I have a Citizen bm8180 >>18578037
which is almost exactly the same. I kind of like the Lorus dial a little better, actually.
pretty cool that it's automatic. for me, I'm glad my daily beater is solar quartz. but it would be neat if it was auto, instead. just different.
