I have a Seiko chronograph I wear when I don't want to have an expensive watch on, a Speedmaster I wear as my beater, and now a GS that's my daily which has a date complication that I really needed. I want my last watch to be time-only, and basically it's the watch I'd wear "when I don't need to know the time". So for going to dinner, relaxing on weekends, etc. More of a jewelry piece than a tool. I have tried basically everything, and my two picks are the Czapek Antarctique or the Richard Lange.
One thing I want to say about lange: their cases, once you get to 40mm or bigger, are too big for me. They may look elegant in photos but the way they just weld on the same lugs to increasingly larger cases results in some ridiculous lug-to-lug distances.
Both watches are 40.5mm diameter, but the Czapek L2L is 45, and the Richard Lange L2L is 49.5!
Consider the speedmaster L2L is only 47, and a GMT Master II is 48.5.
So lange is making a "dress watch" that sits larger on the wrist than the rolex supercase. I also like the Lange 1 BUT it doesn't meet my complication criteria and is mechanically inferior to the Richard Lange in many ways.
I know the Antarctique is sporty, but I've never worn a watch with a leather strap and can't imagine having to be cautious of a little water when washing your hands.
