Do any of you guys grunt, groan or moan when lifiting? I used to work out in my garage so I could be as loud as I wanted but now I'm going to a public gym and I get odd looks from women or they quickly vacate the area near me; in all honesty I do sound like a porn actor climaxing.
Is it appropriate?

from my experience only absolute narcisists attention seekers grunt constantly. It is ok to let out soft grunt after last rep during last set, everbyody does that.

But it is retarded to do it with every rep as if you are lifting more than you are able to. It is cringe just like women taking photos in front of mirrors in dumbell area. Pathetic pussy beta men.

You never show how hard it is. You make it seem easy, that is manly thing to do.

That's fascinating and all, but OP said he grunts when working out by himself, so it's not narcissism or attention-seeking.
If anything, worrying about what other people think and modulating something as harmless as grunting is oversocialized feminine behavior.

if i start off on hammer press i do that on the first rep to get it off the rack and then do like 9 more after wihtout grunting

There's a guy at my gym that a few of us call The Cum Man because he does sexual sounding moans on every single rep. He is so loud that you can hear him across the gym. If nearby, I can hear him over my headphones. The kicker? He does ten reps on every single set so he's moaning constantly. Oh, and the HEAVIEST weight I have ever seen him use is 20lb dumbbells for bench press. Haven't seen him in a while, so hopefully he's gone for good.

I don't grunt, but my cardio is lacking, as I do reps I'll start counting them verbally towards the end, while fighting for air
