try several boxing gym in your area, yes try several...
boxing is a very solitary sport, you gotta find a good coach that you get along with and isnt there to scam your money
most boxing coach are shit and wont give a fuck about you if you arent in prime condition and young, but they are still very good coach that you might find thats why i suggest to try several before "joining" one
also be careful not to get scammed into a box-exercice, and yes a true boxing gym can turn into a box-exercice anytime, its what happened to mine when the old coach decided to retired because he destroyed his body with boxing

>I literally know nothing and im willing to learn anything
Are you willing to learn that you've been training your body in the opposite direction, and that an average person will be better at boxing than you are because you ruined your body with bodybuilding?

Can you run? Can you skip rope? A decent cardio base will help you. Like the anon said earlier, look for boxing gyms around you, the best thing to look for is if they have a fight team.

>durrrr
That's why muscular guys like Tyson and Wilder were so bad right

If he hasn't injured himself from lifting then he hasn't ruined his body with bodybuilding. The whole "more muscles make you move too slow to fight" shit is some stupid bullshit myth. Having muscles and having good cardio aren't mutually exclusive either.

We had a bodybuilder come into our gym one night and the guy absolutely could not keep up with conditioning drills and never came back. Being strong is a great base to start with, but 3/4 of the training is building up your cardio. Once you've learned basic technique you're golden, but if you want to spar and simulate competition, or actually compete, you've gotta have a lot of stamina

Bring a water bottle and buy handwraps. If you want to spar, buy a mouth guard. A decent gym will have gloves and headgear you can borrow while you try it out to see if you like it. Any sporting goods store will have hand wraps

Holy shit you're legit retarded.
Tyson and Wilder got their muscle from ultra high reps and boxing training.

Bodybuilders don't have an ounce of useful muscle in them for boxing. Quality matters you stupid shit.

Don’t even join a boxing class if you can’t skip rope for 10 min straight. 80% of striking is having a solid cardio base. Also, for boxing you want to go train in Russia. For May Thai go to Thailand. The West simply isn’t worth the money the training you’ll receive. You will also become leaner with all the cardio you’ll do so if you’re okay giving up your vanity gains then go for it.

Most of boxing practice is cardio, endurance training, and calisthenics. If you want to do it by yourself, skip rope, run (prefer sprinting over jogging), do squats, situps, pushups (preferably knuckle pushups). Shadowbox by imagining your opponent and punching air, don't forget to dodge sometimes. Get a heavy bag and do 2 minute rounds with 1 minute rest between each other. If you want to join a boxing gym, do the light sparring at 50-70% of your power or so, focus on defense early on.
Gear: choose the boxing gloves by your weight. Buy wraps and learn how to wrap your hands. Get a mouthguard and a helmet (optional) if you're going to spar.

And watch Tony Jeffries, he's very helpful.

-technique.
Stand with feet slightly wider than shoulder width diagonally towards your opponent, lead foot points forward, rear feet points out diagonally.
Fists at chin height, forearms point straight down.
Slight bend at knees and hips stay below shoulders.
When you hit make sure to begin your punch by moving the hand first, almost like doing a tricep pullndown, elbow follows but make sure you don't flare out your elbows, imagine you're holding something under your armpit you don't want to drop, return fist to the same position.
When you strike with lead punches, take a step forward , back foot follows, when you strike with rear arm, push from your rear leg, rotate your hips, shoulders rotate so your rear shoulder ends in front, don't flare out your elbow, extend at the elbow like you're doing a tricep pulldown.
Look up the following concepts on youtube.
Business hours, traffic lines, guard manipulation, give and take.
even if you suck being aware of these concepts puts you several levels above any beginner.

-training.
You can actually maintain the exact same bodybuilding programs you might currently do but you need to do slow eccentrics and fast explosive concentrics in every rep and this will build athletism.
Do some plyometrics before weights and cardio after weights.
For cardio jog at a moderate pace for 1-2 minutes and then sprint all out for 10-30 seconds, then go back at the jogging pace and repeat for however long you can, super intense but best way to do cardio.

For equipment you don't really need anything but if you must a double end bag or a cobrabag are the best investment possible so you learn timing and precision, you don't even need to think about it, just hit it.
A sandbag never hurts but that's it.

Bloatmaxing is probably more useful for fighting than bodybuilding

I started boxing as a 27 year old fat smoker and within a year could beat the shit out of athletic new people effortlessly and keep up with the conditioning. I trained 3-4 days a week. If you're already muscular you'll be much better off than I was. Be sure to join a gym that produces at least local competitors. It's a ton of fun. Hope you enjoy it.
