Can anyone lay down a short summary of his books? I remember reading a kettlebell training thread a while ago here and iirc his training regimen could be distilled to 2 exercises or something.

This is underlined in Enter the Kettlebell too, but according to ChatGPT, the swing and the snatch may be combined to form a full body workout.

they're all about different shit. if you mean ETK it's a prep to get you up to one arm c&p half your bodyweight and snatching a 54 for 10mins. the getups are on the middle day to help get your shoulders ready for the high volume snatches which are hard. you can get a bunch of stuff in his rogan interview and all of the books are easily found

Well, his original program, which was for barbells, called Power To The People, is a simple but effective program. Its just
>Deadlift 2x5
>Press 2x5
>5 days a week
>3-5 min between sets
>Leave a few reps in the tank
>Go and get a life
I use this when I'm time crunched and only have 20 min to work out.

grease the groove
do like 50% of your max set several times throughout the day, maybe 5x through the day
for example: 5 pullups if you can do 10. 3 snatches with 24kg. 2 pistol squats. etc.

Gtg is great, but it should be done a little bit different than you describe it
>select such a low rep range that you can perform the same set again immediately
>every rep should be done with great form (another reason to choose low rep range)
>don't count the sets, just do as many as you like

I do way more than 5 sets through the day.
I wake up and do a set of pull ups. Bathroom, breakfast, I do another set. At work if I see an opportunity I do a set. Back at home I do set before heading to the gym. At the gym I do a set if I like betweet sets. While cooking dinner I do a couple sets.... everytime you have the opportunity and you feel fresh you do a set. At weekends I do 20 sets without it having a noticeable effect on my daily routine.

You'll get 95% of the benefits from just doing one arm swings. If you're worried about overhead stabilization then do some presses with the kettlebell. Kb snatch is a jewish trick invented to sell seminars. And no it's not like training to be an fighter without getting in the ring like the lightbulb headed faggot claims, it's not testing how big your balls are, it is just a retarded exercise.

They're all different but he likes intensity more than reps.
This is in contrast to actual russian girevik sports, ie. the kettlebell sport, which is all about amrap.

Not him but it's CNS gains mostly. Basically, they consider strength a skill that grows the more repetitions you do.

>>76258636
It is strength, not hypertrophy. Gtg is not my workout, I do a basic routine too.
But I can assure you that it will benefit your workout routine. Grip strength improved for example which translated to every pull exercise I do.

I'm too old for chasing the Zyzz physique (women don't give a fuck) and all I want is a healthy body that is capable of doing fun stuff. Proper climbing/hiking without having a heart attack, MTB for hours, kayaking, play basketball/soccer with my buddies, have ridicilous stamina for sex...

>gtg isn't about hypertrophy, it's about strength
In the long run, how much strength you have is directly dependant on how much hypertrophy you have

Staying skinny limits your strength potential. So if it's not good for hypertrophy, it won't be good for strength.

Not true. A simple comparison between an olympic weightlifter and a bodybuilder will show you that strength does not necessarily go hand in hand with muscle mass. You can be very strong without the huge muscle mass.
There is also a couple of videos where Magnus Midtbø impresses some huge guys like Larry Wheels or Eddie Hall with his strength.

Cope. First of all weightlifting has weight classes. If size didn't matter, the strongest man in weightlifting wouldn't look like this. Second, weightlifting is hugely technical. It involves a lot of balance and ability to move effieciently above just raw force output. If you compare any weightlifter with a bigger bodybuilder, the bodybuilder will almost always have greater strength throughout his various muscles, even if he can't clean and jerk as much. This is a fact. If you want "strength, health and readiness", you should bodybuild and get strong on heavy barbell lifts first. Pavel was a DYEL.

Dude, this is basic stuff. If you want to get strong you don't follow a bodybuilding program. We'll make it even more simple: Compare a powerlifter with a bodybuilder doing a simple deadlift. All the extra mass the bodybuilder has does not necessarily translate to strength. Compare thousands of them and you'll probably get two pretty graphs showing you the average difference.

I hate his videos because he is so overpolite with everyone that eveyone becomes overpolite with him. Like he absolutely sucked in armwrestling with some injured guy who armwrestled with him with left hand, but that guy was like "Oh you so strong! You almost moved my hand by an inch!"
Same with Larry Wheels and the video where he trained his back. Larry is absolutely so much stronger than Magnus but forced to say something like "Oh my God I'm so impressed you are so strong I can't believe it!"

His books are basically short pamphlets and even then are still stuffed with pointless filler. His general philosophy of fitness is good though. I based my early lifting on his "power to the people" (which I of course did not buy, I merely skimmed through it at a books-a-million). The basic gist being lift heavy for few reps do full body movements grease the groove. Worked great, got strong as fuck real quick.
