Why are rock climbers so much stronger and more aesthetic than gym rats?
/fit/ says you can't get big and strong with body weight exercise such as rock climbing.

This dude is an elite rock climber and does weightlifting. He looks small, but his muscles are at peak efficiency. kinda like how powerlifters who are skinny look small. it makes sense to me.

>elite rock climber
He used to be.
Magnus retired from professional climbing like a decade ago (he's way past his physical peak), and he started doing lifting/strength challenges recently for his YouTube channel.

He's literally doing deadlifts and not bodyweight exercises

>why does technical full body-body weight exercise make ppl look better than trying to follow ones body dysmorphia to artificially shape specific muscles to achieve an unnatural build????
science may never know the answer to this

He may be past his physical peak but he's still pretty much an elite level climber. In his latest video he was keeping up with Alex Meggos and even managed to send some problems Alex couldn't.

He actually does some weightlifting on the side.

I bought a new chair last week, box listed gross weight at around 65lbs. It also said it required a two man lift to move

Outside of enthusiasts a lmao3pl8 DL is magic to normies

Lmao. No good rock climber got there by just doing climbing, that's how you plateau at V5. They all do forearm, bicep, and ab isolation and pullups, basically just if you took a normal weightlifting routine, added some sport specific things like hangboarding, and removed all push and leg workouts

as a competing rock climber, idk why but you get retarded strong, even though i'm thin as a rail i can ohp 2x my body weight no training.
i think it's one of those things where 'if you can grip it you can lift it'
