I've seen countless of such post but nobody of these propaganda accounts mentions that these soldiers were hiding in some basement for like a month while being besieged, running out of food, with many also in need of urgent medical help but the Ukraine higher ups told them to not surrender. They looked like death when they finally capitulated. And considering that these guys were mostly Azov guys he is very lucky that he only lost his gains.

I'm not sure if this is a serious question, but:

If he knows you won't take him as prisoner, then he will fight to the death, taking out as many of the enemy has he can, since he has no reason to give up.

Also, if he knows that you won't take him as prisoner, then if you ever need to surrender, he probably won't bother.

It's in your selfish best interest to allow enemies to surrender.
